General Hospital spoilers for Tuesday, August 27, focus on characters in emotional places and feeling every bit of those emotions.
It’s understandable that Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn — read about Grahn’s hilarious adventure with Carolyn Hennesy here) would be extra concerned for Kristina (Kate Mansi), who fell and lost the baby. Who knew she wouldn’t show up for her other daughter, who was in tremendous pain as well? But that’s where we are. Thankfully, Molly’s father, Ric (Rick Hearst), decided to return to Port Charles to be there for his daughter with Alexis. Plus, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) had TJ’s family on her side.
When Ric visits Alexis, will their conversation turn contentious? Naturally, people will take sides regarding Kristina’s role in the tragedy. But are there sides to take on Kristina planning to keep the baby? No doubt, Ric and Alexis, two passionate and vocal lawyers, will discuss what would have happened had the baby been born. And Ric will fight for Molly with everything he has. This should be an interesting chat.
The first unexpected pairing is Molly and Dex (Evan Hofer). Sure, he’s the one who escorted Molly to Ava’s jail cell when she wanted to read Ms. Jerome the riot act. But that’s the extent of any sort of connection, right? Then why is Molly suddenly confiding in Dex? Sometimes, you don’t want to burden those you love. Instead, you turn to someone who’s basically a stranger. They have no preconceived notions and won’t judge you for your feelings, as wild and extreme as they are. Having said all of that, what’s GH’s purpose here? Are they testing the waters? Or is this just a one-off?
Meanwhile, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Carly (Laura Wright) are the second unexpected pairing. They occasionally share space, but it doesn’t happen that often. They do have Jason (Steve Burton) in common, and they’re both mothers. But they normally have no reason to even talk to each other. So why are they both finding themselves dumbstruck?
Laura (Genie Francis) is on a two-part mission to find Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and save Lulu. When she suddenly has to deliver dire news, who does she tell? Two options are Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who has a vested interest in Lulu and her well-being. Someone else we know she will tell is Nikolas (Adam Huss) because part of this quest includes an actual visit to him in prison. Please let us know that Nikolas’s jail stint won’t last much longer, and he can rejoin his family in Port Charles.
Finally, Tracy lashes out, which is something she is known for. Is she upset because nobody actually tells her about Lulu or because she learns about her terminal diagnosis, and she feels helpless to stop it? With Tracy, it could be either way. And she is someone who has no issue taking out her anger and frustration on other people. Even though we’re getting the softer side of her these days, she’s still human, and her heart breaks just like everybody else.
