General Hospital Spoilers August 16: Molly and TJ Face the Unbearable

General Hospital spoilers for Friday, August 16, focus on distressing calls, shocking arrests, and heartbreaking choices. Needless to say, it’s another emotional day in Port Charles.

Heartbreaking Choice

Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ’s entire surrogacy journey has been filled with pain and conflict. This second shot at a family ended with the loss of their baby after Kristina (Kate Mansi — who tells a story about how she and Chad Duell survived an earthquake) fell from Ava’s hotel suite. Since this tragedy, the domestic partners have traveled different paths. While they both feel anger, they’ve channeled and expressed it much differently.

But they do know they have decisions to make, including naming their daughter. Molly especially has been putting it off. Is this the “heartbreaking choice” the teasers suggest TJ (Tajh Bellow) and Molly face? If so, what will be the perfect name to capture the essence of someone they desperately loved but lost?

Success Stories

Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington) has been in Port Charles for what, six months? In that time, he made a lot of threats, but very few moves. He never quite seemed to make logical deductions. Anna (Finola Hughes) runs Pikeman, anyone? Lately, his one-man, one-sided vendetta against Sonny (Maurice Benard — who set the record straight on his GH status) has been his focus. When John makes a shocking arrest, does he take Sonny in or someone close to Corinthos?

Meanwhile, Jason (Steve Burton) logs his own success story when he hits paydirt. Does he find the shady pharmacist Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) paid off to help mess with Sonny’s bipolar meds?

Distress and Another Promise

In other news, Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) receives a distressing call. Could this have to do with the Heather Webber (Alley Mills) situation? After all, Scott (Kin Shriner) is taking on the prisoner’s case. Or is this GH starting to set up Lulu’s return?

Finally, Sonny makes a promise to Kristina (Kate Mansi). Before her fall, she was scared of Sonny’s dark side. Ever since she lost the baby, she’s all about tapping into his numerous resources to get revenge on Ava (Maura West). Sonny already made one promise to his daughter. Is this a second promise he makes?
