Spike The Cheerios! Is It Time For GH To Age Elizabeth’s Sons?

Elizabeth’s sons have somehow escaped soap opera’s rapid aging syndrome on General Hospital (GH).

The three boys — Cameron, Jake, and Aiden — have remained somewhat close to their birth ages instead of suddenly surfacing as teenagers like most children do on daytime. It’s allowed Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) relationship with her kids to grow and develop in real time.

However, some might argue that it’s also impeded the potential for more storyline possibilities.

Soap Hub polled fans about the state of Elizabeth’s family. Namely, do you think the show should consider aging Elizabeth’s sons? Here’s what you had to say.

Yes, Bring It On
The bulk of fans, some 73%, think the time is right to age Elizabeth’s boys; at least one of them. You would like to see Cameron emerge as a young teenager and, perhaps, be involved in a plot with Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Oscar (Garren Stitt).

The move would also provide new acting opportunities for Herbst’s Elizabeth, who’d suddenly find herself the mom of a young man embarking on teen woes, and Roger Howarth’s Franco, who could step up to offer manly advice to the fatherless teen.

No, Keep Them (and Elizabeth) Young
The remaining 27% of you would prefer to see the soap leave the three boys’ ages as is and keep both them and Elizabeth young. Their plotline is moving along just fine; particularly, in the case of Jake (Hudson West).

The talented kid is heavily involved in the Jason (Steve Burton) and Drew (Billy Miller) switch and delivering powerful performances, day in and day out. Aging Jake would mean saying goodbye to one of soap’s best child actors, and you definitely don’t want to see that.
