The run of summer fun and adventure with Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital (GH) is over, now that he’s returning to boarding school and the actor returns to his Disney Channel show, Stuck in the Middle. But how do fans feel about this?
Nicholas Bechtel has finished his latest stint in Port Charles, which means it’s time for Spencer to leave Port Charles, again.
The Cassadine heir never fails to entertain when he’s on the canvas, and this time around he really stirred things up in key story with Valentin, Sonny (Maurice Benard), Laura, and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom).
Soap Hub polled fans on the precocious young prince’s fate, asking if you are sad Spencer is heading back to school. Here’s what you had to say.
We’ll Miss Spencer
Most of General Hospital’s fans, 71%, admit you got a tad teary-eyed over Spencer’s departure. You absolutely adore the quirky kid.

Not only did Bechtel bring life to Port Charles, but his work opposite Genie Francis, who plays his grandmother Laura, was superb. They share a special and heartfelt connection, and you’re going to truly miss their scenes together.
Bye-Bye Brat Boy
Ouch! Some 29% of fans say you won’t miss Spencer at all. The character is a bit of a brat, after all. You enjoy him in small doses, so you’re okay with his taking off now — for a while at least.
While he did move story, you adore Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and are relieved to see that there is now one less person around who wants to see him dead. Laura was right — it wasn’t his job to police Valentin. Perhaps now Spencer can enjoy being a little kid again.
