It’s an undeniable fact — Robert Scorpio makes everything better on General Hospital. He has a history with so many, he has integrity, the charm for days, and let’s face it — he’s a bonafide Port Charles hero. And try this on for size — he may be the only one who can help Sonny go legit.

Not that Sonny (Maurice Benard) has to give up the mob, but he certainly has made noises about it over the years. Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) could offer him a lifeline to another exciting type of employment. The two worked well together recently and let’s face it — GH could certainly benefit from having this Aussie around — on contract.

Robert has a long history with Anna (Finola Hughes), Laura (Genie Francis), Felicia (Kristina Wagner), and of course his brother Mac (John J. York) — but he also worked as the Port Charles Police Commissioner — which might not be a bad idea for him to do again. (Oh, Jordan!) Now, he’s gotten to know Sonny and that could provide fun conflict.

Sonny was very close to Luke (Anthony Geary), but Luke’s original BFF was Robert! And as viewers may recall, it was working with Robert that helped legitimize Luke, who had once been in the mob too! Why shouldn’t Luke, who is no longer around, be the glue to help his two besties form a new beneficial friendship?

Besides, let’s break away from the whole idea that it takes a good woman’s love to save a man. Why can’t the friendship of a good man help Sonny be worthy of a good woman? It would certainly be fun to see Robert try.

Scorpio also has a past with the Cassadines, since he helped Luke destroy the Ice Princess and save Port Charles from Mikkos’ diabolical plot. Robert really needs to meet Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). There’s unmined gold that needs to be unearthed between these incredible actors.

Finally, Port Charles needs to return to having heroes. Enough with glorifying the mob and having hitman Jason (Steve Burton) saving everyone in town, even if he’s not in the story.

Let the police get their integrity back, let fans get their veteran favorite back, and let the ladies of Port Charles have a real charming hero in their midst. Pretty please, General Hospital?
