There’s seemingly no way of redeeming Sonny or saving the Carson marriage after a car bomb killed Morgan on General Hospital–especially a car bomb set by one of Sonny’s henchman.
Too Many Enemies
That’s why many now wonder if Sonny (Maurice Benard) was not responsible for the explosion after all. It’s been said enough that Julian (William deVry) had MANY enemies, and any one of them could have been frustrated with the fact that Julian walked free after his trial. We do know Sonny called off the hit on Julian. What if calling off the hit worked? Someone else could have easily made sure Julian’s hybrid was going to blow sky high.
Not Very Accidental
When Sonny did order the hit, he asked for it to look like an accident. A bomb definitely seems planned, purposeful, and not at all accidental. OK, Sonny sure seems guilty in his own mind and believes it very well could have been his hit that killed his son, but there are no guarantees.
The Only Way Out Of A Storyline Corner?
At the moment, it doesn’t seem there’s any way Carly (Laura Wright) could return to Sonny and live with the loss of her son (even if Morgan turns up alive again one day) unless she knows Sonny wasn’t responsible. Sure, Ava’s (Maura West) part will eventually come out, but if that bomb was from a Corinthos henchman, Sonny is just as culpable in Morgan’s death as Ms. Jerome.
It looks like the only way out is to absolve Sonny of all wrongdoing. Sure, we get some great drama in the meantime with powerhouse performances from all involved, but if Sonny isn’t responsible, we get both a whodunit–AND a chance for “Carson” to prevail again.
