Something About Sasha: Valentin’s Biggest Trick Yet On General Hospital?

Something just doesn’t feel right about the sudden and easy way Nina found her daughter on General Hospital.

And, the thing that seems most wrong is that it was all so…sudden and easy. Curtis tracks down a young woman (and we’re not sure quite how), she agrees to take a DNA test because he tells her this alleged biological mother also likes horses, and lo and behold, it’s a match.

Okay, hold your horses here (pun intended), because that’s not how it works on a soap. First, whoever Nina’s daughter is, she needs to be someone we know to add to the drama of the whole thing.

With Hayley Erin departing as Kiki (and rumors of killing the character), we’re going to rule her out though she really would have been the perfect choice.

Another ideal choice would have been Nelle, but she’s locked away and only making a brief return this week and next.

This is another reason this story should have been addressed ages ago, but since it wasn’t, here’s what’s wrong with what’s going on now.

So, okay, Nina gave birth. Or, at least we’re supposed to believe that. But, every OBGYN who has examined Nina in her quest to see if she can still have children (three at last count) couldn’t tell she’d either had a vaginal birth or a C-section at some point? Um, no, that just doesn’t fly.

Really, NONE of this flies. So, Madeline tells Valentin that Nina did indeed have a daughter (after being coerced and bribed) and then suddenly drops dead.

Then, Nina finds a half-heart locket in her mother’s belongings with a note Madeline NEVER would have written, a la Little Orphan Annie. Yes, we’re as skeptical as Maxie was when she heard this.

But, we are not skeptical about Valentin. He’s proven over and over he just can’t be trusted and he is DESPERATE to win Nina back. What better way to do this than to give Nina what she’s always wanted — a child. Namely, the one she thought died.

In Valentin’s twisted mind, what could go wrong? Well, he could get caught and break Nina’s heart in a way it’s never been broken before. Does he want to do this? No. Is he that desperate? Yes. And, is this his cruelest move yet? Yeah, probably.

(We still don’t think he killed Nikolas, so yeah, this one will take the cake, if that’s indeed what’s going on here.)

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
