During her storied career in daytime soap operas, Tamara Braun has played everything from an enthralled mob moll to a doe-eyed romantic, and a rage-filled mafia princess. But it’s yet another role that has the actress taking a nostalgic walk down memory lane.

Tamara Braun Honors Daytime Milestone

Braun took advantage of Throwback Thursday, to share on Instagram a special photo of herself from the years she spent on All My Children – where she played lesbian Reese Williams.

The snapshot depicted a scene from the wedding between Reese and her girlfriend Bianca Montgomery (Eden Riegel) and featured the following message: “#tbt to that time a Wisconsin jeweler used an image of #bianca and #Reese to advertise their wedding rings. Yeah, it may have been some sort of licensing infringement but I sure didn’t care. Happy #pride everyone. #loveislove #lgbtq #equality #amc 🌈”

Among the many fans who responded to the post were floridagirlpaddles who wrote, “This relationship was so important. It was one of the first times I saw someone like myself on tv. And it was a show my mother watched as well. I miss this show so much,” and laura_joy_gold who said, “Loved you as Carly, but you made a difference in my life as Reese. Thank you!”

Unicornmamalulu added, “Even though this wasn’t a happy ending, I loved seeing them on screen. Made me feel happy to be who I was (am).” Among the others leaving a comment was none other than Mike Manning, the young actor who recently wrapped a months-long stint on Days of our Lives, where he’d played Braun’s character’s son.

The beloved actress responded to many, mostly through heart emojis, but when an inquiring mind wondered which Dairy State jewelers had been behind the display, she revealed, “one in Madison,” but didn’t divulge anything further because “I don’t want to get them in trouble.”

Braun first appeared on AMC in 2008, and both she and Riegel made history by participating in the first same-sex wedding in an American daytime soap. Unfortunately, the fan-favorite coupling, whose nicknames included Rianca and Breese, was torn asunder.
