A Martinez has made the rounds in the daytime circuit, most famously playing Cruz on Santa Barbara, but also doing memorable stints as Roy on General Hospital, Eduardo on Days of our Lives, and Dr. Ramon Montgomery on The Bold and the Beautiful.
A Martinez Back At Work
Since 2014, Martinez has also been part of the digital web soap, The Bay, playing Nardo, the patriarch of the Ramos family.
The actor took to his Instagram account to tell fans about his experience going back to work for The Bay, also posting a photo of himself in a mask, standing next to a sign saying Hot Set: Zone A: Please Do Not Enter.
“First work for me in the New Normal, where the shooting set itself is segregated from all the rest of location,” Martinez wrote. “People have been remarkably aware of one another in space, and very careful not to intrude needlessly. To say such courtesy is appreciated is an understatement, and prayers are up that things will get better soon, and not exponentially worse.”
The Bay includes a who’s who of daytime stars, with everyone from Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, DAYS) to Tristan Rogers (Robert, GH) to Ronn Moss (ex-Ridge, BB) taking part.
It’s nice to see our favorite daytime stars getting back to work and being safe. With BB already shooting new scenes and YR about to join them, adhering to safety measures like wearing masks and social distancing as much as possible is key to keeping the coronavirus at bay and allowing soap operas to return.
When last we saw Martinez as Eduardo Hernandez in Salem, the former assassin was carted off to jail for being in possession of stolen treasury bonds—arrested by none other than his son Rafe. He seemed to make up with all his children (Gabi, Rafe, and Dario) before leaving in 2017.
Martinez is slated to return to DAYS sometime this summer, with rumors that his appearance will be tied to the scheduled departure of Galen Gering (Rafe). Here’s hoping he’ll be able to check in on Gabi and share one last moment with former love Kate (Lauren Koslow) while he’s there.
