The soap ratings for the week ending September 12, 2020, resulted in some good news for the folks over at The Young and the Restless. It was also a good week for the gang in Port Charles at General Hospital, too.

Soap Ratings Race

The coveted soap ratings demographic is Women 18-49 because it’s the one advertisers like to try to reach. Well, the ratings are in and YR scored a .39 in that important category. General Hospital also scored the same rating in W18-49 so, the two popular soaps were tied for first place among daytime dramas.

The Bold and the Beautiful came in third with a .37 rating in W18-49 and Days of Our Lives was fourth with a .33. There’s good news for DAYS, too. This marks the fourth week in a row that DAYS has equaled or increased its W18-49 rating.

In households, YR came in first with a 2.14. BB was second with 1.98. General Hospital was third with 1.47. DAYS was in fourth place with 1.25. Each rating point is equal to 1.210 million viewers. So, YR had 2.59 million viewers. BB had 2.40 million viewers. GH had 1.78 million viewers. DAYS had 1.5 million.

What were the stories that affected soap ratings that week? On YR, Adam (Mark Grossman) recalled memories of when he was 11 years old and his parents Victor (Eric Braeden) and Hope were talking about how Adam had killed a man.

Meanwhile, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) informed her parents Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) that they were taking their renewed union to a new level.

On BB, Donna (Jennifer Gareis) arranged for her sisters Katie (Heather Tom) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) to meet, hoping they’d reconcile. General Hospital continued to tell the story of Mike’s (Max Gail) battle with Alzheimer’s. On DAYS, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) was presumed dead after a car she was held hostage in caught on fire and exploded!

The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless air weekdays on CBS. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
