On General Hospital, Valentin has tricked Nina into thinking she’s finally found her long-lost daughter, Sasha.
But viewers know that Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) is in cahoots with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Eventually, Nina (Michelle Stafford) will know it, too.
There will be screaming, breast-beating, and Emmy baiting. But, in the end, what will happen to Sasha? Should she stick around Port Charles? Here’s what almost 8,000 hope to see.
Don’t Let the Door Hit You On the Way Out
Go away, Sasha, 83% of you are all but shoving her off the canvas. You’re a bad person. And we’re all full of those.
Sure, Sonny (Maurice Benard) the mobster and Franco (Roger Howarth) the serial killer, and Jason (Steve Burton) the hitman, and even Valentin… the Cassadine… are allowed to stick around. But Sasha! She who lied to Nina, she must never darken our television doors again!
Sure, she’s pretty, but she’s really not that exciting. You don’t see long-term heroine potential in Sasha. She’s kind of like another Kiki (Hayley Erin). Speaking of Nina’s daughter…
Stay Just a Little Bit Longer!
Kiki is leaving, and we need someone to fill that young leading lady void, 17% of the audience counters. Sasha – as far as we know – isn’t biologically related to anyone in Port Charles.
Which makes her a viable love interest for everyone from Michael (Chad Duell) and Drew (Billy Miller) to Chase (Josh Swickard).
And it’s nice that Sasha isn’t some cookie-cutter simpering damsel in distress or a judgmental goody-goody. We’ve seen that she has an edge and ambition, which are both fun qualities. Let’s chemistry test Sasha with a few more people and see how it shakes out.
Let Nina yell at her, let Valentin blackmail her, and let the good people of Port Charles judge her. But then let Sasha pick herself up, dust herself off, and go to town!
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
