Snooze Or Lose: Are Sonny and Carly Now Infinitely BORING On General Hospital?

When General Hospital’s (GH) Sonny and Carly first hooked up, the pairing was so unexpected, it kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Sonny (Maurice Benard) was still mourning the baby he’d lost with Lily (Lily’s death was just collateral damage to the real tragedy) and pining for his soulmate, Brenda (Vanessa Marcil), while everyone knew Carly (then Sarah Brown) was madly in love with Jason (Steve Burton), and always would be. (That is totally not the case now, is it?)

So when Sonny and Carly not only had hate sex, but then he forced her to marry him after she ended up pregnant, that was interesting.

Sonny shooting Carly (then Tamra Braun) in the head while she was giving birth to Morgan? That was something. The triangle between Sonny,.Carly (Laura Wright), and Jax (Ingo Rademacher)? Kind of endless, but worth tuning in for.

Now, though… Now… Well, Morgan is dead, so, yeah, that’s sad. And Joss (Eden McCoy) is a bratty teen, so, yeah, that’s kind of a story.

Even Jason’s return and Drew’s (Billy Miller) demotion from favorite hitman to persona non grata has Sonny and Carly as supporting players. So, is the tempestuous couple getting boring? Over 10,000 viewers weighed in.

Are you kidding, sputter 63% of you? Sonny and Carly are THE most interesting part of Jason’s return. Who cares how Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and even Monica (Leslie Charleson) feel about it?

No one is more critical to this tale than CarSon, and anything they have to say about it is infinitely fascinating…

Uhm, venture 36%, all Sonny and Carly have been doing for months is reacting to the Jason saga, and telling everyone else how they should feel about it. They’ve turned into a pair of buttinsky yentas, and that is not a good look for either the whiny mobster or his shrieky moll. Snoozeville!
