Shiloh’s Swan Song: Coby Ryan McLaughlin Out At General Hospital

On Friday’s General Hospital, Shiloh is all set to take the stand in his own defense of the indefensible, and according to Coby Ryan McLaughlin, this looks like the beginning of the end for this character.

McLaughlin took to Instagram on Thursday night to thank his fans for their support over the last year but also told them his contract wasn’t re-upped and it was the end of his year on General Hospital.

Shiloh seemed to take over the show at once point, with nearly every story centering around him. He was the leader of a cult that drew in Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth), Brad (Parry Shen), and the late Oscar (Garren Stitt). He’s the father of the baby who mysteriously died in Brad’s care at just a few hours old, but he still thinks his baby is still alive.

He’s also the son of one of the men Sam (Kelly Monaco) conned during her marry-a-rich-man-and-steal-all-their-money days. And finally, he was the person who made sure Helena (Constance towers) and Peter (Wes Ramsey) were able to kidnap Drew (Billy Miller) from Afghanistan and implant Jason’s memories into his brain.

But alas, it’s time for Shiloh to go and McLaughlin gave his thanks in a video. “I’ve never been involved with a show like that before and never seen such incredible fans…I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me so welcome, even if you wanted to &%$#* hate me. And, it’s true. He was a pretty despicable guy.”

So, how will Shiloh go? Rumor has it he will go on the run next week. Does that mean someone catches him while he’s hiding out in Port Charles trying to claim the baby who isn’t his?
