No one on General Hospital can speak to Alexis for more than a couple of minutes before they are forced to listen about how she is a strong, independent, principled woman who needs a man about as much as a fish needs a bicycle, girl power, friendship, three daughters, hear her roar, who runs the world?
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) has been singing that song since arriving in Port Charles over 20 years ago.
Also during that time, she’s managed to bed and wed an above average number of misogynistic mobsters who ended up threatening her life, either just verbally, or with an actual knife to her throat. But, hey, they had nice abs. And killer dimples.
Fact is, Alexis talks a good game. But she also has a tendency to go weak in the knees for the first cute boy who pays her a compliment. Sometimes she even giggles.
Right now, Alexis is unattached. Does that need to change? What over 8,000 fans had to say.
Boy Crazy
Heck, yes, 77% of are all but pushing her out the door – or onto Tinder. Granted, a solid percentage would like to see her back with Julian (William deVry), father of daughter Sam (Kelly Monaco), and the aforementioned holder of knife to her throat. But, hey, nobody is perfect. And he was feeling stressed! Julexis fans don’t quit!
Sole Provider
Alexis doesn’t need a man to feel whole, 23% scoff. She has her kids – and those grandkids Sam is always dropping off for her to watch. She has her work and her friendships.
Well, mostly just Diane (Carolyn Hennessey). Daughter Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) has no direction in life, and daughter Molly’s (Haley Pullos) boyfriend looks like he just aged a decade overnight. Alexis has her hands full. A man would just get in the way.
