After a several-week hiatus from taping General Hospital (GH), Robert Palmer Watkins was back in Port Charles taping scenes as Dillon again today.
During his time away from GH, Watkins filmed a movie called Last Three Days and also learned his contract would not be renewed in October.
The actor has been pragmatic about the situation and as positive as ever on social media. Last week, Soap Hub reported that a source told Soap Opera Digest that Watkins’ status with the show is up in the air. There was even speculation that he could become recurring.
Watkins then tweeted he wasn’t even aware of that, but is open to it — saying he’d love to stick around Port Charles.
To mark his first day back on set today, he took to Twitter again with a short video saying he’s there through the end of October and then, “we shall see what happens.”
So, it’s anyone’s guess right now what will happen to Watkins and Dillon, but at least we know we’ll have him on screen at least through November sweeps.
