Tragedy struck Port Charles when Michael (Chad Duell) was set ablaze in his father’s penthouse, causing a ripple effect of rage throughout his loved ones.

While in DC, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) received divorce papers from Michael and rushed to Drew’s (Cameron Mathison). He comforted her and reassured her that Michael wouldn’t take the kids away from her.
At GH, Brad (Parry Shen) confronted Cyrus (Jeff Kober) about what he did to Britt (ex-Kelly Thiebaud), prompting Lucas (Van Hansis) to step in and calm Brad down, while Portia (Brook Kerr) banned Cyrus from the hospital.
At the penthouse, Michael updated Sonny (Maurice Benard) on his divorce, while Carly (Laura Wright) went to Jason’s (Steve Burton) office to vent about Willow. When Carly left to meet Lucas for dinner, Jason went to the penthouse to discuss business. While the two stepped out into the hallway, a bomb was dropped into the penthouse, setting it ablaze and causing Michael to catch on fire.
Elsewhere, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) found a secret gun while packing up Dex’s (ex-Evan Hofer) things at his apartment, while Brennan (Charles Mesure) reprimanded his assistant for shooting at Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) before running into Carly as she waited for Lucas.

After Jason managed to extinguish the flames on Michael, he was rushed to GH where Lucas and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) jumped into action. While at an unexpected dinner with Brennan, Carly overheard someone talking about the fire and rushed to GH where Sonny and Jason informed her about Michael. Brennan went to find Josslyn, who was examining Dex’s gun, to inform her about Michael’s condition. When they were all gathered at GH, Lucas informed them that Michael had sustained third-degree burns on 40 percent of his body and they weren’t sure if he would make it.
Meanwhile, in DC, Willow and Drew hit the sheets once again. But after Portia (Brook Kerr) called Curtis (Donnell Turner), who was in the middle of plotting with Nina (Cynthia Watros) to take down Drew, he called Drew to tell him about his nephew while Nina called Willow.
At the Quartermaine Mansion, Chase (Josh Swickard) opened up to Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) about struggling to have a baby, while Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) had a heart-to-heart with Lois (Rena Sofer) where she wondered if her current struggle was karma for getting pregnant and giving up her baby in the past.
As Michael lay in the burn unit, Carly and Joss were visited by Diane (Carolyn Hennesy), who informed them that they would need to seek custody of the children after Willow’s latest betrayal, which shocked Joss. Later, when Joss ran into Willow at the hospital, she blasted her for her decisions.
Meanwhile, Sonny and Jason returned to the burned penthouse to investigate how the bomb had been planted. While there, Jason told Sonny they needed to retire before anything like this happened to Danny (Asher Antonyzyn). After Jason gave Anna (Finola Hughes) his statement, she called Brennan for help figuring out who caused the fire.
Chase was asked to accompany Diane to Nina’s, where they planned on taking the kids after informing Nina of the court order.
Back at GH, Curtis tore into Drew for being at the hospital. When Drew went to the chapel, he ran into Carly, and the two went at it. Meanwhile, Sonny found Kristina (Kate Mansi) on the roof. There, she admitted she was afraid of seeing her brother in that condition. When Jason went back to the hospital, he thought back on raising Michael as a baby before going in to sit with him. And Michael suddenly woke up groaning in pain.
The Port Charles Grille was a busy dinner spot as Diane and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Ric (Rick Hearst) and Ava (Maura West), and Cyrus and Martin all had discussions. But when Diane pulled Martin away to talk about the Corinthos divorce case, Ric decided to take her seat across from Alexis, simply to annoy his ex.
At GH, Carly and Drew had it out in the chapel while Joss continued ripping into Willow until Nina arrived to stand up for her daughter. Later, when Willow found out the kids were taken, she ran right into Drew’s arms. He suggested she assert her position as Michael’s health proxy to get the kids back. Just when Carly and Sonny were about to discuss Michael’s condition with the doctors, Willow appeared and told them all decisions were up to her.
Over dinner with Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Sasha, Felicia (Kristina Wagner) brought up Michael’s accident, prompting Sasha to rush to the hospital. Once there, she found comfort in Jason’s presence, who was asked to leave after Michael woke up so he could be sedated again. Later, Brennan gave Joss a list of people who were at Rice Plaza the night of Dex’s stabbing, so she began talking to Felicia, who finally remembered hearing Cyrus ring his bell that night.
With everyone preoccupied, things took a turn when Cyrus sneaked into Michael’s room and promised him that he would be at peace soon before injecting him with digitalis.
