In the September 2 episode of General Hospital, Valentin tried to distract Anna from her troubles, while he spoke a hard truth he hoped she’d take to heart. Valentin’s words impacted Anna but didn’t sway her agenda.

Key Takeaways

  • Anna clocked Valentin’s real motive.
  • Valentin gave Anna something to think about as she tipped her hand.
  • Anna doubled down on her Britt plan.

Not The Same Old Anna

After he witnessed Anna (Finola Hughes) have a panic attack the other day, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) showed up for her again. Valentin and Anna were at the gun range, where he doled out advice and proved to be one of the best friends she has.

Anna made it clear to Valentin she wasn’t the woman he knew from back in the day at the bureau. The conversation turned to Faison (Anders Hove) and her life before he wreaked havoc on it.

Valentin used the moment to remind Anna that she was alive and Faison was dead. The words didn’t help Anna.

Instead, they riled her up. Anna informed Valentin that Faison may be dead, but what he did made her vulnerable to manipulation by others, especially his children, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Cassius (Ryan Paevey).

Once Again Valentin’s The Voice of Reason

Anna’s words had Valentin pulling out the big guns with her. Valentin declared that Cassius and Britt may not be as guilty as Anna thought. He reminded Anna that Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was the one who tortured her.

The Cassadine heir revealed that the WSB had named Cassius the bad guy as a cover-up, something Anna knew. It was then that Valentin gave Anna a harsh reality check.

Cassius and Cullum were dead. They can no longer hurt Anna or her loved ones. Anna softened as if Valentin’s words had impacted her. However, when he left her alone, Anna called Britt and set the trap to kill her, just like Peter (Wes Ramsey) suggested.

Valentin Knows More Than He’s Saying

One thing GH fans can always count on from Valentin is that he never shows his full hand to anyone. Valentin did just that with Anna at the gun range, and when she had her panic attack. He listened and spouted off tidbits of wisdom.

Valentin knows how to drop little nuggets to make it seem like he’s just concerned or trying to help, when really, he’s gathering information. His face spoke volumes as he talked to Anna, giving her reminders and reality checks, especially when she talked about Britt.

Anna, for her part, did seem affected by Valentine’s words but not enough to truly listen to them and ignore her agenda. These two are kind of playing a game of cat and mouse. Valentin’s determined to help Anna, and she’s determined to do her own thing, while making him think he’s helping her.

The problem is they know each other too well. At some point, one of them will figure out what the other is really up to, and it will change everything for them. The question is, will it be too late?
