Valentin Played Anna’s Savior
For once, Anna (Finola Hughes) let someone help her and see her in a vulnerable state following her Port Charles return. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) found her in the elevator, having a panic attack, and was her saving grace.
In true Anna fashion, she resisted at first, but Valentin persisted and managed to calm her down. Even though she had Peter (Wes Ramsey) in her ear telling her she couldn’t trust Valentin, she did anyway.
Valentin held her hand and comforted her until they got out of the elevator. Instead of sending her off, Valentin made Anna sit with him, which allowed her to share her fears with him.
Anna Let Valentin In and Played It Safe at The Same Time
Once they sat at a table, Anna managed to calm her nerves slightly. Valentin kept her talking while he listened to her every word about her being held captive.
Anna relayed her fear and hatred of Faison (Anders Hove), which hinted to Valentin that her mental state was still unstable. Valentin reassured her that Faison was gone and suggested Anna see a therapist and maybe take a break from the PCPD.
The advice didn’t hit well with Anna, who balked at the idea. However, after Valentin vowed to o keep her safe from the WSB, she changed her tune, but it seemed more like an act than sincerity.
Their Talk Was So Much More Than Anna Opening Up
Valentin being there for Anna was something she had needed since she landed back in Port Charles. The problem is that the conversation hinted at way more than he could have realized.
Anna opened up enough to Valentin to make him think she was confiding all her problems in him, which, in a way, that’s what she was doing. Everything Anna said to Valentin was the way she’s been feeling for months.
Talking to him gave Anna an outlet, but as was easy to see during their conversation, Anna was opening up and shutting down at the same time. Valentin didn’t seem to clock that but was instead focused on the honesty coming from Anna.
The conversation means Anna trusts him more than Valentin realizes. Anna can also play him like a fiddle, which means she can hide things from him. Valentin only got a small piece of the Anna puzzle, so he has no idea he should be questioning her even more than he did.
Hopefully, Valentin will see the light about Anna’s suffering soon, and before Peter has her do something drastic she can’t take back, like kill Britt (Kelly Thiebaud).
