The General Hospital recap features Nina Reeves finally learning the truth about Willow being her daughter and then calling it as she sees it with Carly.
In this episode, Nina was stunned by Carly’s news, but that shock turned to fury. Michael also couldn’t believe his ears when Drew informed him who Willow’s mom really is, but Sonny was mad when nobody would tell him what the heck was going on. Josslyn was called down to the Port Charles Police Department and was forced to lawyer up as her BFF Trina defended Spencer to her mother. As for Spencer, he learned a few things from Cousin Alexis that really surprised him. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Nina (Cynthia Watros) could barely wrap her head around what Carly (Laura Wright) was telling her. She called Carly delusional when Carly said that Nina and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) were related and then wondered why Carly would believe anything Harmony (Inga Cadranel) would confess on her deathbed. Carly explained how she ran a DNA test using hair from Willow’s brush and a glass with Nina’s DNA on it and it proved Nina and Willow are mother and daughter.

Nina then began remembering good and had moments with Willow through the years. There was a time when Willow and Nina had tried to move past their problems and got along, with them even talking about how hard it was to have a mother they didn’t feel loved them. It hit Nina that Carly was telling her the truth, so Nina went off, calling Carly a monster and a selfish bitch for keeping this secret since last year.
In Willow’s room, Sonny (Maurice Benard) kept watch for a while as Josslyn (Eden McCoy) had to leave and begged Willow to wake up so that Michael (Chad Duell) wouldn’t lose her. As for Michael, he also got a stunner when Drew told him that Nina is Willow’s mother and that Carly was telling Nina at that moment. He didn’t seem to put it together that his mother kept the truth for longer than Nina kept Sonny’s status in Nixon Falls a secret.
Finally, Willow woke up when Michael entered her room, ready to tell her the truth. However, before he got the chance, Nina appeared, and Willow freaked out. Nina didn’t let that deter her as she told her newfound daughter that she was ready to save her life.
Josslyn was shocked when she arrived at the PCPD for what seemed like an ambush. Jordan (Tanisha Harper), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), and Robert (Tristan Rogers) were there to show her security footage from the docks on New Year’s Eve. Before Josslyn could tell them anything, Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) arrived as Josslyn called her as soon as Dante summoned his former stepsister to the station.
Diane prepped Joss to make a statement, and she told Jordan, Dante, and Robert that The Hook did indeed attack her, and Britt ran in to save her by whacking the killer with her designer purse. She left everything about Dex (Evan Hofer) out of the story while explaining she meant to tell all but had a family emergency. Once alone, Dante asked her to tell him what is going on with their family.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) stopped by Sonny’s old penthouse, which she should know well, and had a visit with her nephew Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). They talked about Esme and The Hook and Spencer admitted that he’s not sure that Esme is faking her amnesia, and Alexis informed him that Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) plans to sue for custody of Esme’s baby.
Spencer was shocked to hear this and realized they need to know where Esme really came from. He told Alexis all about Esme’s nanny, and the letter he saw about Esme’s real father, and Alexis said she planned to use this lead to get more information.
Finally, Trina (Tabyana Ali) was distracted by texts from Spencer when playing cards with Portia (Brook Kerr) and Curtis (Donnell Turner). Portia was surprised that Trina was letting Spencer back into her life and tried to talk her out of being friends with him. Trina defended Spencer, insisting he had changed, while also admitting she is not sure she wants revenge against Esme anymore because she saw a different side of her on New Year’s Eve. After Trina left the room and Curtis returned, Portia told her fiancé she intends to keep Spencer and Trina apart.
