The General Hospital recap for Thursday, December 14, 2023, features Monica coming home just in time to deal with Finn’s malpractice case.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Kristina told Sonny about the baby plan, TJ shared his thoughts with Stella, Alexis confided in Gregory, Robert and Diane took things back to her place, and Carly laid into Ava. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
An Ethical And Legal Dilemma
Finn’s (Michael Easton) malpractice case was all the buzz at the hospital. No sooner did Portia (Brook Kerr) approve his new case’s treatment plan than he was told to head to Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) office. Uh-oh. Finn knew this wasn’t good. And, it wasn’t.
Not only was Monica there for a chat but Tracy (Jane Elliott) was too. They warned him today was the day the hospital would choose what to do. They may settle…they may back him in court. Finn was confident with his actions, regardless of what the hospital thinks.
In the end, Monica and Tracy agreed to stick with the doctor. Tracy gave Finn the good news and Monica told Dede (Shelley Robinson). Finn was relieved but Dede fumed. Was Monica really willing to risk the hospital like this?! She did not approve.

All the while, Amy (Risa Dorken) worried about her own part in the case. She was one of the nurses and would be forced to take the witness stand. After approaching Portia (Brook Kerr) and getting nowhere, she shared her concerns with Liz (Rebecca Herbst). Liz told her to simply tell the truth and all would be well.
Across town, Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) was out with Robert (Tristan Rogers) but her mind was in the courtroom. She shared her plan to tear Finn apart in court if he did even the slightest thing wrong. It’s what any good lawyer would do.
Robert wasn’t too interested in the legal drama, though. He was much more interested in…other things. He got his way when Diane invited him home.
Baby Talk
Kristina (Kate Mansi) met up with Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Donna (Scarlett Spears) at the Metro Court to celebrate the little girl’s good report card. They hyped her up, had a bit of fun, and then sent her to the kitchen to see how dessert is made.
Once Donna was out of sight, Kristina and Sonny talked about her life. Kristina bragged about her new venture, the bar, and how great things were going. Sonny wondered about his daughter’s personal life. Does she have one? Well, about that…Kristina told Sonny about the surrogacy plan. (Read more about that here.)
Sonny was understandably apprehensive. He showed support but asked all the right questions. Plus, one Kristina had yet to consider. What does her new lady friend think about all this?
Also opening up about the baby situation was TJ (Tajh Bellow). He talked to Stella (Vernee Wilson) and wondered if they were doing the right thing. He admitted he wasn’t sure if he could count on Kristina. Would it be too much for her?
Wondering much the same was Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). She griped to Gregory (Gregory Harrison) about the whole situation. She was pleased to hear Kristina wanted to step up, but would she also be able to walk away when it’s time? She wasn’t too sure.
Questionable Behavior
Meanwhile, it didn’t take long for things to become tense when Carly (Laura Wright) dropped Avery off with Ava (Maura West). She noticed Ava was worried and asked what was going on. Ava tried to chalk it all up to moving but Carly wasn’t buying it, especially since Ava talked about everything but Austin’s murder. Suspicious.
Carly didn’t outright call Ava a killer, but she did imply it. That all (un)said, she pushed Ava to at least tell Sonny if she did kill the doctor. For Avery’s sake, at least. Let him help so Avery doesn’t live through another bout of Ava being absent.
Once Carly left, Ava opened her secret gun case and stared at the latest note from her stalker. She dared Nikolas to show himself.
