The General Hospital recap features Heather Webber giving Ava all the ammunition she needs to finally take care of Ryan once and for all.
In this episode, Heather hinted to Ava that Ryan has a great tale to tell her as Ryan tried to get Esme to trust him enough to deliver her baby. The Port Charles Police Department also managed to make it to Wyndemere where Heather The Hook was apprehended and Austin was carted away in an ambulance. On the mainland, Trina asked Spencer to take her anywhere but home while Curtis spilled his man pain to Marshall. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

Heather (Alley Mills) taunted Ava (Maura West) by telling her that it was Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) who destroyed her marriage and entire life but didn’t say how as she admitted it was Ryan’s tale to tell. Knowing Ava’s fury, Heather even handed Ava a gun and told her to go after Ryan and find out for herself what really happened and why.
Soon after, Ava took off to find Ryan, Mac (John J. York), and the PCPD arrived through the tunnels, and Heather freely admitted she was The Hook and took joy in being arrested. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) left in the ambulance with Austin (Roger Howarth) after Heather assured them she didn’t have time to put poison on this hook.
Back on Pier 55, Alexis informed Laura (Genie Francis) and Kevin (also Jon Lindstrom) that Heather was The Hook, and they also deduced that Heather must be Esme’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) mother, as this is a family affair. Eventually, Laura and Kevin made it to Spoon Island, and Heather was happy to confirm she had a very pregnant daughter running loose outside.
When Ava caught up with Ryan in the woods, he was standing over a terrified Esme, assuring her he was the perfect doctor to deliver his grandchild. As Ava held a gun on him, Ryan told her everything, including how he groomed Esme to be like him and got her into a posh French boarding school so that she could target Spencer and help him enact his plan to get Nikolas (Adam Huss) out of the way.
While Ava and Ryan sparred, Esme ran away, and Ryan freaked out because he had lost his daughter. When Ryan tried to run after her, Ava shot him right in the shoulder and asked him how it felt to lose the one person he loved the most. A wounded and contrite Ryan admitted that maybe killing Kiki (Hayley Erin) wasn’t such a good idea after all, but asked Ava to look on the bright side because at least Nikolas (Adam Huss) was still alive. Well, Ava had to inform him that Nikolas might not be alive after all, prompting a gleeful Ryan to announce they can now be together forever. Not so fast, Ryan. As he reached for her hand, Ava pulled the trigger once again.
As for Esme, she made it back to the main house and ran straight into Laura’s arms since she was a familiar face who had been nice to her in recent weeks, which didn’t exactly please a watching Heather.
Still reeling after learning her mother lied to her for her entire life, Trina (Tabyana Ali) was happy to finally share some sweet and passionate kisses with Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). They admitted how long they had waited for this moment, and Trina wanted to take things further. However, Spencer didn’t want their first time together to be in the middle of a closed art gallery. Instead, he wanted to make things special.
Spencer offered to take Trina home, but she didn’t want to go there. He finally had the idea to take her to Wyndemere to stay with Ava, but when they got to the pier, they saw police everywhere. Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who had deduced Heather was The Hook, was still there and informed her great nephew and his girlfriend that Esme was on Spoon Island with her parents — Heather and Ryan.
Finally, Curtis (Donnell Turner) arrived at The Savoy on what should have been his wedding night and started drinking. N’neka (Arlondriah Lenyéa) was confused to see him there and immediately called Marshall (Robert Gossett) to come over and see what was wrong with his son.
When Marshall arrived, Curtis told him all about possibly being Trina’s dad. He was furious at Portia for lying, but Marshall said he could relate due to all the years he lied to his family. He urged Curtis to lick his wounds and return to his new wife.
