The General Hospital recap for October 12, 2023, features the start of Sonny and Nina’s small and private wedding.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

In this episode, Sonny and Nina prepared to marry with a few loved ones surrounding them. Back home, Josslyn was blindsided when Dex told her about the wedding but then concerned when Pilar couldn’t find Ava. Austin appeared in court on Cyrus’s behalf and helped get him released from prison, while Mason kept Ava in a prison of his own. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

General Hospital: Wedding Day Drama

The Corinthos clan settled into Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) private island hideaway as they enjoyed the beach and waited for Sonny and Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) wedding. Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Michael (Chad Duell) even made fun of Sonny when they found him writing his vows. Kristina and Sonny later spent some bonding time together, and he told her how grateful he was that he was the first family member who accepted Nina.

Nina looked back at her life with Sonny so far from their first meeting in Nixon Falls. By the time Donna asked her if she would be her second mommy, Nina was also thinking about her SEC secret. At least Donna took her new job seriously — she was tasked with making sure Sonny didn’t see Nina before the wedding. Sonny finally decided to spend some alone time thanking God for giving him Nina. He also prayed this would be his last wedding and that he’d be able to make Nina happy in a way she deserved.

Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) had another weird dream in which Harmony (Inga Cadranel) appeared to give her a serious warning. However, she once again could not hear what Harmony was saying. When she woke, she brushed it off and joined Kristina to help Nina get ready for her wedding. Willow even had a gift for Nina. It was a turquoise necklace that Harmony gave her for her 16th birthday. It was to bring Nina peace, love, and protection.

Before the ceremony began, Michael got a text from a DC area code telling him he knew who ratted out Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) to the SEC. He decided to ignore the text until after the wedding.

General Hospital Recap: Cyrus Is Free, Ava Is Not

Dex (Evan Hofer) surprised Josslyn (Eden McCoy) in her dorm room and told her that Sonny and Nina were getting married on the famous private island. She was even further shocked to hear that family members were invited, but she wasn’t. She freaked out and couldn’t believe that nobody told her. Dex rightfully asked her why she cared so much when she spent the last two years angry at Sonny.

She was able to admit that she got why she was left out of all this, considering how vocal she had been about Sonny and Nina. She felt alone in her grudge and couldn’t understand why other people had been so forgiving. Her pity party had to end when Pilar showed up at her door looking for Ava (Maura West). She never arrived to pick up Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola), and Pilar (Brenda Barberena) was convinced something was wrong. Dex was also sure something was wrong, considering he knew some of what Sonny had been up to with Austin (Roger Howarth) and Ava.

Cyrus (Jeff Kober) met up with Austin in a courthouse and thanked him in advance for telling a judge that Cyrus was too weak to hurt anyone and stay in jail. Austin pointed out he had no choice but to testify. Cyrus’s new lawyer, Scott (Kin Shriner), told the judge that Cyrus found God, so his life had been turned around. Even the warden had flattering things to say about Cyrus.

It turned out Mason (Nathanyael Grey) had locked Ava in a basement where she’d been screaming for help for days. As Mason taunted Ava, Austin called to inform him that he did his duty and Ava could be freed now. Too bad Mason had other ideas.
