The General Hospital recap for July 17, 2023, features Neddie Maine just wanting to sing but Tracy wouldn’t let that happen.
In this episode, Neddie made a decision after Tracy’s heartfelt plea. Chase also told Gregory some truths about Tracy. Sonny was all for Anna’s idea to make herself bait for the shooter, but Dante wasn’t. Ava and Austin came out as a couple, while Austin also had some threats. And finally, Felicia and Lucy found themselves in trouble in Pine Valley. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) were alarmed when they found Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) hysterically trying to find supplies for the Quartermaine GH picnic. She was just crushed about everything that was going wrong and Cody (Josh Kelly) arriving with an injured Leo (Easton Rocket Sweda) didn’t help. Leo had taken Comet out on his own and hurt his knee, but not seriously.

Chase (Josh Swickard) and Gregory (Gregory Harrison) were all in for an impromptu Eddie Maine concert in Rice Plaza. Chase was there to watch over Neddie (Wally Kurth) while Brook Lynn and Sonny (Maurice Benard) were busy. As they chatted, Chase brought up Tracy’s name, and Gregory couldn’t wait to call her a harpy. However, Chase admitted that Tracy helped him get that second civilian review board hearing.
When the usual park singer came along and wanted Neddie arrested, the two rockers decided to have a music battle. However, Tracy interrupted the whole thing because she was horrified to learn what her son was up to. She did her best to get through to Neddie while revealing how heartbroken she was over Neddie rejecting her. In the end, Neddie walked away, and Tracy was crushed. Oddly enough, Neddie went home on his own.
Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) tried to talk Anna (Finola Hughes) out of setting herself up as bait for the Metro Court shooter, but Sonny was all for the idea. He knew it was dangerous but he wanted answers as much as Anna and believed this would work. Dante admitted he thought it could work too but he was still not happy about Anna’s decision. At least he wanted to be her partner in crime. When Anna refused to allow it, Dante insisted, and Anna had to finally agree.
Ava (Maura West) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) sat down for some drinks and girl talk at the Port Charles grill because Ava couldn’t wait to tell her BFF she had sex with Austin (Roger Howarth). Nina wanted all of the details, but Ava didn’t tell her the part about an allegedly-dead Nikolas. Soon, Austin arrived and planted a kiss right on Ava’s cheek.
Austin was ready for more romance, and Ava wasn’t quite sure what to say. Neither did Nina, as she left them alone to visit the ladies’ room. Once alone, Austin had a message from Mason (Nathanyael Grey). It turned out Mason had a new nanny candidate, but Ava was not on board. However, the second part of the message was all about Ryan’s Bar, and Ava knew her mom, Delia Ryan (Ilene Kristen), was being threatened.
Sonny soon showed up, and Ava took the opportunity to suggest that Pilar get an assistant nanny who could be the only nanny while Pilar was on vacation. Sonny was not happy about the idea and wanted a say in whoever she hired. He also told Nina that if Austin was now in Ava’s life, he wanted to get to know him.
Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) were ready to continue with their caper in Pine Valley as Lucy waited for Jackson Montgomery (Walt Willey) to show up for their date. Once Lucy sat down to dinner with Jack, he was surprised to learn she owned a cosmetics company. He then asked if she knew Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) since she once lived in Pine Valley. He also knew that Lucy’s last name was Coe because he knew so much about cosmetics from being married to former Enchantment owner Erica Kane (Susan Lucci).
Meanwhile, Felicia broke right into Jack’s office to look for information on Martin (Michael E. Knight). When Jack got a text and needed to go back to his office, Lucy used her womanly wiles to stop him, allowing Felicia to break into Jack’s safe and find some files on Marty.
Back at the restaurant, Lucy found hummingbird cake on the menu and recited a recipe to Jack. Lucy was surprised when he happened to know the secret ingredient was bourbon. The next thing we knew, Jack entered his office with a cop, as well as Lucy in handcuffs.
