The GH recap for Wednesday, December 21, 2022, features Christmas at the Davis house where things go better for Alexis Davis and Kristina Corinthos Davis than expected.
In this episode, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) made Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) happy, while she also guided Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) in the right direction. Also, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) feared death, while Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) feared Willow knowing the truth. We also saw Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) be as blunt as possible with Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth), while Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and brother Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) dealt with their man pain. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Alexis hosted Christmas Eve at her house, and it’s the first time we have seen her place since Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) tried to kill Alexis and Carly earlier this year. Alexis was happy to welcome her daughters, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Molly Lansing Davis (Haley Pullos), and Kristina. She was surprised when Spencer also took her up on her invitation and doled out some advice.

After Spencer asked her if he is doomed to be just like Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and how she and her kids managed to forge their own lives, Alexis told her nephew that it wasn’t easy. However, they were all determined to carve out their own identity and go after what made them happy despite being a member of a criminal mastermind family.
As if to prove her point, Molly announced that baking is what keeps her grounded, and Kristina announced she is doing charity work for the Port Charles LGBTQ+ community. Kristina feared Alexis wouldn’t be happy with this news and was happily surprised when Alexis told her how proud she was of her.
Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was shocked to see a surprise waiting for her in her living room. Her loved ones were all gathered there and had Christmas decor and trees all around. Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) exchanged sentimental gifts — some old jazz albums and a long-ago family photo — while Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) wanted to decorate ornaments with her daughter.
Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) had to privately convince Trina to stop blaming herself for Rory Cabrera’s (Michael Blake Kruse) death, and Trina finally wiped her tears and joined her mom. When everyone had left her alone, there was a knock on the door, and Spencer was standing there. He clearly took Alexis’s advice to go after what makes him happy.
Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda) and Wiley Quartermaine (Viron Weaver) were thrilled to receive gifts on Christmas Eve, and Wiley was also excited to learn he was going to have a little sister. When he asked Willow if they could help her open Christmas gifts next year, dying pregnant Willow needed some air.
Carly noticed just how pale Willow was and made a comment about it to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) as he insisted that he should tell Willow that she might still have living parents out there.
However, Carly was quick to tell him what a horrible idea that was because it would just burden Willow during the holidays. What stress it would be to learn she may have been kidnapped as a newborn, something Willow said she already suspected months ago. Drew reluctantly agreed with Carly and then presented her with a key and keychain to remind her of her enlightenment time in Florida. As Carly enjoyed her Drew time, Joss looked to be run off the road.
At Finn’s place, which looked surprisingly like Maxie’s place, the Chase men gathered with their relationship woes as Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) and Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) tried to make it a happy occasion. Things did start looking up when Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) stopped by to tell Chase that the civilian review board has agreed to hear his case again — next spring. It seemed that Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) letter might have done the trick. This prompted Chase to show up at Rice Plaza, and BLQ hoped he would still sing.
Finally, Austin also showed up at Rice Plaza for the date he had planned with Maxie. Too bad Maxie had to break up with him. She considered their relationship a result of trauma bonding, and they both admitted they were not meant to be.
