Esme Price on GH
The General Hospital recap for Friday, December 22, 2023, features Esme returning to Spoon Island and reclaiming all her lost memories…especially the terrible ones.
Also in this episode, Cyrus pulled a fast one on Nina, Molly and TJ officially have an egg donor, and Gregory asked Brook Lynn for a huge favor. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) got his Christmas wish of spending time with Ace, but not in the way he expected. Instead of seeing him at Esme’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) place, she dropped the boy off to him. He found it strange but Laura (Genie Francis) found it to be a nice gesture.
Spencer was right, Esme was up to something. She went Wyndemere to have a look around. She found the room Nikolas kept her hostage in and her memories flooded back. All of them. Being locked down, her escape plan, recording Joss and Cam, Spencer calling her out, and nearly killing Liz. Overwhelmed, she fell to the ground.

Also remembering the past was Sonny (Maurice Benard). He and his brood went to church to make a donation and light candles for those they lost. Sonny and Michael (Chad Duell) gave little Wiley a lesson on the tradition and importance of honoring those who have passed like Uncle Morgan and Uncle Jason.
On the sidelines, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) talked about Nelle. Once everyone left, Nina stayed behind and lit a candle to honor her daughter. And, since she was there, she decided to hit up the confessional. Little did she know, Cyrus overheard and took the priest’s place.
Meanwhile, Carly (Laura Wright) and Donna were thrilled to be joined by Joss (Courtney Fulk), Adam (Josh Benard), and Dex (Evan Hofer). However, the visit didn’t last long before Carly whisked Donna away for the festivities at the hospital.
Once they left, Joss approached the idea of Adam going home for the holidays. She even offered to pay for it. Unsurprisingly, he turned her down. When she pushed, Adam got loud. He did not want to go home! He then took off.
Over at Alexis’s house, Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) told Alexis about Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) plans for Scout. And, that Scout was against switching schools. Alexis understood both sides (much like Kristina did on this day).
At the same time, Molly (Kristen Vaganos), TJ (Tajh Bellow), and Kristina (Kate Mansi) talked about the egg donation offer. It was huge, obviously, and could change the dynamic of the surrogacy. First and foremost, they needed time. Not a lot of time, though, apparently.
Later, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) came over, too. She got there just in time to hear TJ and Molly accept. Yes, Kristina will not only be their surrogate, but have a biological connection to the baby to boot! Yay!
The Ashford home was full of love and memories as they all talked about Irene. Things got pretty awkward between Marshall (Robert Gossett) and Stella (Vernee Wilson), though. It seems their scene on the patio rattled them good. Thankfully, it wasn’t too long before the family headed to the hospital.
At GH, Finn (Michael Easton) practiced reading aloud before going to welcome his family. Gregory (Gregory Harrison), Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) showed up with Violet (Jophielle Love) and Leo (Easton Rocket Sweda).
Finn, Chase, and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) whisked the kids off to see the tree when Gregory asked to talk to BLQ alone. He had a big ask for her. It was his Christmas wish to see his son get married. Can she promise to not wait too long?
Soon, the who’s who of Port Charles collected with their little ones to hear Laura and Finn read “The Night Before Christmas.”
