The General Hospital recap for Monday, January 8, 2024, features Liz channeling all she learned from knowing Bobbie for decades to be there to comfort her dear friend’s daughter.
Also in this episode, Sasha covered for Cody, Sonny was able to get bail and ran straight to Carly, Tracy dropped a truth bomb on Martin, Lucy was beside herself, and Joss gave her brother the business for not putting their mother first. Now let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
With Kelly’s closed so she could remember Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman), Carly (Laura Wright) was shocked to hear a knock on her door. She welcomed in Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), who misses Bobbie a great deal. Acknowledging that they’ve never been close, Liz offered Carly a sympathetic ear if she needed one.
Carly got upset with the sink, but Liz knew it was the pipes. Carly was shocked, but Liz reminded her that she used to work there and that the pipes were always a problem. Liz told her about Bobbie being there for her during the darkest time in her life (watch as Liz tells Audrey she was raped here) — she wanted to feel that security that Bobbie provided again. Liz told Carly that Bobbie would live on through her legacy of kindness. Carly thanked her with a hug.
Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) went to the interrogation room to see Sonny (Maurice Benard), who reminded him that he doesn’t talk to cops. Instead, Dante told him about Bobbie. Sonny appreciated hearing it. Dante wanted to be there for him, but Sonny didn’t believe it since he had him arrested. Dante said he was obviously not fine or he wouldn’t have beaten up Cyrus.
Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) interrupted the two men and asked to speak to Sonny alone. The attorney assumed Sonny’s attack on Cyrus was done in self-defense. Diane made a phone call and learned that Cyrus was going to be okay. She expected to get him bail and asked if he wanted her to start divorce proceedings. He didn’t want to think about that now. Nina (Cynthia Watros) wasn’t a priority — his kids were. Diane arranged bail so Sonny was a free man — for now. Sonny thanked Dante and said he heard him and he loved him. Later, Diane asked Dante to keep an eye on him. Sonny ran straight to Kelly’s to see Carly.
Felicia (Kristina Wagner) apologized for crossing the line by running a DNA test on Cody (Josh Kelly) without his consent but Maxie (Kirsten Storms) was furious on her friend’s behalf. Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) happened in and Cody told her that Felicia ran another paternity test. Sasha said then she must know Cody wasn’t lying about him not being Mac’s son.
Felicia apologized to Cody, admitting that she can be wrong. After Felicia and Maxie left, Cody asked Sasha what had happened? Sasha confessed to swapping out his hair with her own (well, we know Sasha’s dad isn’t Mac!) Cody was upset with Sasha as she’s known implicated in his falsehood. Cody says he regrets choosing a big payday over a family. Sasha noted he now had people to lose — he was no longer on his own.

Maxie and Felicia visited BJ’s grave. Maxie said it was small comfort but at least BJ and Bobbie are together now. They shared their pain over losing Bobbie — and how having each other makes it hurt a little less.
Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) dropped by Carly’s house to pay condolences. Joss (Courtney Fulk) appreciated her visit. Michael (Chad Duell) joined them as Joss talked about how sad she was. Joss left to check on her younger sisters. Willow and Michael shared a hug but things were still awkward between them. Willow told Michael that they should tell their kids about Bobbie together. Michael wanted to fix what’s wrong between them, but Willow said that he truly hurt her and she still needs some space. After Willow left, Michael told Joss that Nina called the SEC on Carly and Drew. Joss pointed out he protected Sonny and Willow at Carly’s expense. But she said she couldn’t be mad at him now. They need each other too much.
Lucy (Lynn Herring) tried to get Bobbie’s favorite flowers which weren’t in season for her upcoming memorial, which earned Scott’s (Kin Shriner) respect. Lucy regretted not making things right with Bobbie before she died; Scott felt the same. They admitted how awful they’ve been at times, noting that Bobbie wasn’t always a saint either! Scott said that Bobbie would be the first to admit that especially as she brought Luke (Anthony Geary) to town, which ended up ruining Scotty’s life. Lucy made Scott promise to never tell anyone but she was jealous of Bobbie. She had the admiration that Lucy craved. Scott thought they could have been friends if Lucy had told her that. As he handed her his handkerchief, there was a charged moment between them. After, Lucy wanted to make sure they stayed on track — marrying him off to Tracy and bringing her down.
Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) met to go over numbers but BLQ realized it was a bad time and offered to reschedule. Martin (Michael E. Knight) showed up alone and let them know Lucy was with Scott and they were planning a memorial for Bobbie. Tracy thought that was funny as the two women were at odds for years, noting that only Scott stood by Lucy for many years. Tracy let her granddaughter know that Scotty and Lucy are trying to set her up and she’ll bring them down.
