The General Hospital recap features Dex doing his best to save Sonny Corinthos from an ambush.
In this episode, shots were fired at Sonny and Dex as Josslyn hoped beyond hope that Dex’s plans to bring down Sonny would work. Victor was not happy to learn Elizabeth told the cops what happened in the Wyndemere north tower and was even more unhappy about some medical test results. Carly and Liz spent some time bonding while Drew spent his time trying to get ELQ back in the family. Finally, Mac and Kevin discussed Ryan’s death and their friendship just as Cody was letting Dante in on a big secret. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
As soon as Dex (Evan Hofer) saw the sniper rifle, he pushed Sonny (Maurice Benard) out of the way, but Sonny decided he would come out of hiding and shoot anyway, screaming out warnings to the gunman to no avail. Sonny ran out of bullets, and Dex distracted the gunman as Sonny ran, but Dex went down with a shoulder wound. It was up to Sonny to make his way back into the warehouse to rescue his protégé. Dex managed to get himself up and help Sonny win this battle, but Sonny then had to get Dex the help he needed. When things seemed to calm down, Sonny admitted he didn’t think Pikeman was behind the ambush, but he vowed to find out who was.

In Carly’s (Laura Wright) kitchen, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) did her best to convince her mom that Dex had a plan to get out of the mob, but Carly didn’t buy it. Soon, Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) stopped by with a sick Donna, and when Carly left to get Donna some meds, Joss and Bobbie spent time bonding. Joss was excited to hear there would be a Nurses Ball that would celebrate 60 years of GH and honor lost doctors and nurses. When Bobbie said she was going to ask Cameron (William Lipton) to perform, Joss had to tell her grandmother what’s been going on with her love life but left out the Dex part.
They also discussed Luke (Tony Geary) and his death. Bobbie said she felt that if Luke were still alive, he would have let her know. She was also sure that his death was no accident and that someone had him killed.
Speaking of the man who allegedly killed Luke, Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) paid a visit to GH to try to figure out why he had performance issues with Eileen (Heather Mazur). After deciding to wait for his test results, he ran into Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) in the hall and decided he wanted to have a long talk — but Elizabeth didn’t want to have anything to do with him. As he threatened her with the knowledge that she helped Nikolas (Adam Huss) keep Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) in the tower, she informed him she confessed all and now has an immunity deal, so he has nothing on her. At least she reassured him that she made sure that Victor would come out of this looking somewhat clean, but it left him worried enough to try to find out what her statement said.
When Victor wanted to talk more, he grabbed Liz, but Carly came to her rescue and told Victor to back off. Victor walked away but made sure to mention the situation with Esme, which piqued Carly’s curiosity, so Elizabeth told her everything. Carly was impressed, admitting she would have done the exact same thing. The two discussed anger and grudges, and Liz admitted she doesn’t feel as much animosity toward her parents anymore, so Carly presented her with the photo of Jeff (William Moses) and Carolyn (Denis Crosby) that Liz tried to toss last year.
As for Victor, he learned that there is a strange pathogen in his blood, and his doctor would have to bring infectious disease doctor Finn (Michael Easton) on the case.
Drew (Cameron Mathison) was thrilled when Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) brought Scout to the Quartermaine mansion for a visit and she immediately asked if Carly was there because he is always with Carly now.
Ava (Maura West) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) continued discussing their theory that Drew and Carly engaged in insider trading, but Nina wasn’t sure if she wanted to use this information to her advantage. Ava admitted that she didn’t care what Nina chose to do, and Nina wondered if Carly and Drew would really go to prison. Ava also questioned whether she liked the idea of having information about Carly’s life just like she did when she hid Sonny’s identity in Nixon Falls.
Nina thought about things and how the universe could balance the scales, but she wasn’t sure she wanted to rock the boat. Ava then handed her a phone to call the SEC, and Nina hesitated. Then, as luck would have it, Drew showed up at their table and expressed his gratitude for Liesl (Kathleen Gati) donating bone marrow to save Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Drew then told Nina not to forget to take care of herself, which gave her some more pause about turning him and Carly in. She wasn’t going to take away Willow’s support, and Nina had to admit that Carly has been there for Willow while she’s been sick.
Meanwhile, Drew continued his plan to get ELQ 100% back in the family and had to appeal to Laura (Genie Francis) to sell him Charlotte’s (Amelie MacLaine) shares. Laura surprised him when she told him, nope, that wouldn’t be happening.
Felicia (Kristina Wagner) caught up with Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Laura over a meal at the Metro Court and lamented that she knew burying Ryan would not be easy for him. When Kevin left the table to take a call, Laura and Felicia discussed the moment Ryan and Kevin were separated as children. She also admitted that Kevin was broken up about Lucy’s (Lynn Herring) alleged death, but didn’t feel comfortable informing him she was actually alive. They then wondered if they should tell their husbands about the Vanna/Lucy situation since Laura can see the situation blowing up soon.
When Laura then had to leave the table, Kevin and Felicia had a chat. Kevin felt awkward with Felicia but told her he understood that Mac (John J. York) did what he had to when he killed Ryan. Still, he was grieving his brother despite all the people Ryan hurt and killed. Felicia soon confessed that she snuck into the morgue to see Ryan’s body and try to forgive him, but she couldn’t do it. Things then got awkward when Mac showed up.
The friends discussed the fact that Mac killed Ryan, and Kevin had to admit he feels both relief and grief that Ryan is gone. Kevin told Mac that although Ryan was his brother by birth, Mac has been his brother in life.
Earlier at the Q stables, Cody (Josh Kelly) got the DNA result paper away from Mac before he could discover that Cody has been lying about his paternity. Cody tried to then get Mac to leave, confusing Mac, but when Dante arrived, Mac just said goodbye, and Cody tried to make sure they parted on good terms. As Dante went on and on about what a good guy Mac is, Cody said he didn’t deserve Mac and then fessed up that Mac is his dad.
