The General Hospital recap for Friday, January 5, 2024, features Cyrus spilling all about his attack to Laura…which ended in Sonny going down hard!
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Sam and Drew had it out about Scout’s future, Sasha did what she could to console Nina, Cody was called out by Felicia, and Bobbie’s office was packed up. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
More Trouble Came Sonny’s Way
Always the dutiful sister, Laura (Genie Francis) spent a great deal of time at the hospital in her brother’s room, waiting for him to regain consciouness. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) woke her when he came in. They went to the hall to talk but before long, Cyrus (Jeff Kober) finally came around. Laura ran to be with him, and Dante began his investigation.
Unfortunately, for Dante, Cyrus wasn’t spilling any key details. Yes, he was attacked, but the who and why didn’t matter. Only God could judge and could punish. That didn’t fly with the detective. He called upon Laura to get the truth — which she did.
Cyrus had no problem telling his sister that her friend Sonny beat him to a pulp. Laura hardly believed it — until he told her why. This wasn’t exactly an attack on him. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time and became the target of Sonny’s fury with his lying liar wife.

As for Sonny, he got a visit from Lois (Rena Sofer). She saw the suitcases and wasn’t surprised to hear he was booting Nina (Cynthia Watros) out — for now. She was a bit surprised he was still wearing his ring, though.
He moped, and vented a bit, and they talked about how troublesome his wife was. Then, she sent him off to clean up those bloody knuckles. No sooner did he get to the next room than Dante arrived…to arrest his dad!
As for Nina, she spent her day whining to Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) about being a screwup. No one will ever forgive her now. Sasha let her throw her pity party and then pointed out the damage she did way back when. She was public enemy #1 once upon a time. Now, though, she’s beloved by nearly everyone. Nina can have that one day, too, right?
A Sad Goodbye…And A Big Lie
Back at the hospital, Felicia (Kristina Wagner) had the emotionally daunting task of packing up Bobbie’s office. Thankfully, she didn’t have to do it alone. Anna (Finola Hughes) was right there with her. Through tears, they put all Bobbie’s memorabilia in boxes.
When they were nearly done, Felicia talked about some life lessons she learned from Bobbie, especially about how helping others eases grief. No sooner did she say that than she got the call that the test results she submitted were ready.
Meanwhile, Cody (Josh Bell) checked in with Maxie (temporarily played by Nicole Paggi). He offered his condolences about Bobbie before opening up about his grand plans. He wanted to revenge-buy the house he grew up in. It’s time “Serenity” came back into his family.
That talk was promptly pushed to the side when Felicia showed up. She needed to talk to Cody, specifically about why he lied about his DNA results. She dropped the bomb that she ran one of her own.
Parenting Problems
Over at Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) house, she and Drew (Cameron Mathison) got into it over Scout’s future. He was there to take their daughter to get her uniform but Sam informed him Scout would be staying put. No fancy smancy education for their daughter!
Drew was upset Sam would make that decision without him. She was upset he even talked about the school switch with Scout before talking to her first. They exchanged some unpleasant quips before deciding they were both wrong. It’s time they do better as co-parents.
