The General Hospital recap features Carly Spencer and Drew coming up with what they think is a genius plan to beat legitimate charges.
In this episode, Carly and Drew discussed their SEC troubles and tried to strategize. Carly’s kids went at it as Josslyn had a bone to pick with Michael. Sonny didn’t want to think about Carly and Michael and only wanted to make Nina feel better. Tracy met with Chase and told him to either be with Brook Lynn or not. And finally, Sasha tried to be friends with Cody again, but he just wanted her to trust him. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Carly (Laura Wright) met for a drink at the Metro Court, where much of the town seemed to be dining. It was meant to be a break from waiting around at the hospital for news on Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). However, the pair also took the time to discuss their troubles with the SEC insider trading mess they got themselves into by not knowing what insider trading was, thanks to Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) visit to taunt them at the bar.

Carly came to the realization that she and Drew were in big trouble, and they needed to talk about it. Carly worried that they could be pitted against one another during this investigation, but Drew suggested it might be best if Carly testified against him. As expected, Carly balked at the idea. They admitted they did what the SEC is accusing them of, but still didn’t see anything wrong with it. They just had to beat these charges and felt the only way to do it was to tarnish the reputation of the person who turned them in for the crime they committed, and in their minds, that was Ned (Wally Kurth).
Since Carly didn’t want to hurt Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), they figured they would just go after someone else. They finally settled on Tracy, and things might not go as well as they had planned. This should be fun.
Speaking of Tracy, she had her own fun with the Chase men at the Metro Court. Finn (Michael Easton) and Gregory (Gregory Harrison) also met up, and Finn wondered if his dad was about to let him in on his secret, but Tracy’s appearance distracted Finn, and he made a beeline to the host desk for a reunion. Once Finn and Gregory sat down at a table, Gregory surprised him with a family trip to Disney World for himself, Finn, Chase, and Violet. It would be a dream come true for Violet, but Finn didn’t like the idea of a surprise vacation within the next week. There would be no time to plan.
Tracy was there to meet with Chase (Josh Swickard) to discuss his relationship with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). Chase tried to explain what happened between him and BLQ, but Tracy didn’t want to hear it. She went to bat for her granddaughter and told Chase to either let her go or make a move to get her back rather than leave Brook Lynn in heartbroken limbo. Chase tried to explain himself but Tracy wasn’t having it. Soon, Gregory interrupted them to see just why Tracy was berating his son. Gregory and Tracy sparred for a bit, with Gregory going to bat for Chase. Finn was forced to break things up before it got ugly.
Nina (Cynthia Watros) remained distraught over her conversation with Carly the other day and told Sonny (Maurice Benard) all about how she apologized to Carly, but she still refused to help Nina with Willow. Yes, Willow wanted her to make peace with Carly but she just didn’t think she could do it. Sonny was then forced to admit to Nina that Michael (Chad Duell) wanted to make peace with him, as long as he didn’t advocate for Nina to Willow.
This caused Nina to realize that she would always be excluded from Sonny’s family life and would be on the outside looking in. Sonny insisted that wasn’t true and that she would be as much a part of his family as anyone else for the rest of their lives. To prove it, he suddenly asked Nina to marry him, and she was stunned.
Josslyn (Eden McCoy) made her way to the hospital to confront Michael as he awaited news on his dying wife. Willow didn’t seem to matter anymore because Michael did something Josslyn didn’t like, and she wasn’t about to let her brother live it down. To her, everything going on with Dex (Evan Hofer) and Sonny is Michael’s fault, despite Sonny saying he’d let Dex walk away from the job if Dex just asked. Still, Josslyn insisted Dex was trapped because apparently Sonny’s words went in one ear and shot straight out the other.
Michael was surprised to hear that Dex decided to stay in town because of Josslyn, and Michael just wondered how she could selfishly do that to Dex. Michael couldn’t believe that Joss would put Dex in danger and Joss accused Michael of not caring — she said her brother just didn’t want to have Dex on his conscience. The siblings argued back and forth about Dex and his future, who wasn’t there and had no say in any of this. Michael didn’t like the idea of Dex risking his life for Josslyn, so he told her to send him away, but she refused.
Josslyn insisted that Michael just had to turn Sonny in and fix this situation because, clearly, a powerful and scary mobster like Sonny would have no control over Dex’s fate from behind bars. It’s not like he has no associates who could possibly mess with Dex’s life. When Michael explained that it was Willow who told him to drop his vendetta, Josslyn was furious that he involved Willow, but Michael defended himself. He didn’t want to keep secrets from his wife any longer.
This just prompted Joss to claim that Willow didn’t know what a horrible man Sonny was, despite him being the family hero, till he decided he didn’t want to be married to Carly anymore. Josslyn didn’t care that Avery and Donna would be hurt by their dad going to prison. Josslyn understood it was a messy situation, but she was more concerned about Dex than anyone else. When Michael pointed out that her relationship with Dex probably wouldn’t be long-term, that was enough for Joss. She was angrier than ever and was not about to let Dex go. She was going to take matters into her own hand and get Dex out of this perceived mess herself.
Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) insisted on talking to Cody (Josh Kelly) at Kelly’s and asked why he didn’t tell her about being the one to save her at the Home and Heart Channel. Cody was immediately on the defensive but soon admitted that he showed up at the TV station to help her after learning about her being trolled on social media. He hated the idea of seeing her have another breakdown, so he stopped the producer from playing the baby cries in her earpiece.
Cody was humble about his actions as Sasha explained how impressed she was that he did all this for her despite her telling him she didn’t trust him. She thanked Cody for his actions, and Cody took the chance to reiterate that it was indeed Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) who took that bracelet and framed him. Sasha was sorry that Gladys accused him of stealing the bracelet, but she still didn’t believe Gladys set Cody up. Sasha wanted to become friends again, but Cody didn’t think it was possible because Sasha refused to believe him about Gladys. When Cody left, Sasha called Gladys and told her she was thinking of ending the guardianship.
This was not music to Gladys’s ears due to her poker predicament. Selina (Lydia Look) and Gladys sat down at The Savoy to discuss her gambling debt. Gladys informed Selina that she saw Sonny’s goon hand Dex an exorbitant wad of cash that she knew was not business as usual. Selina wondered if she could use that information but announced that Gladys still owed her more money. Gladys insisted that she could only pay her in installments, and Selina said she’d give her till she returned from a visit with her mother in Singapore — with 20% a week interest on $80K. Selina later told her own goon that if Gladys didn’t pay her back the money, she felt Sonny would be forever in her debt.
