Take a look back at one of General Hospital’s most interesting characters. John Ingle as Quartermaine patriarch, Edward, provided viewers with intriguing storylines and a whole lot of humor.
Ingle took over the role of the strong Quartermaine family leader in 1993 after the part’s originator, David Lewis, could no longer continue. He made the role his own and eventually won Outstanding Scene Stealer at the Soap Opera Awards in 1999. The actor’s final scenes as Edward were recorded in August 2012 shortly before his death in Sept. 2012.
The lovely tribute video below shows highlights of this unforgettable Port Charles mainstay. Relive all the stunning memories and then let us know what your favorite memory of John Ingle’s Edward Quartermaine.
