When Push Came To Shove: Should Franco Have Been Honest With Liz on General Hospital (GH)?

General Hospital’s (GH) Franco has a very long rap-sheet of sins. There’s the killing, the (faux) raping, the trapping men in cages, the truly terrible paintings….

But what was the final straw for Liz (Rebecca Herbst)? Franco (Roger Howarth) lying. About having pushed Drew (Billy Miller) down the stairs when they were kids–allegedly.

Considering everything else Liz has already forgiven Franco for (the tumor, it was the tumor, I tells ya!), should he have just told her the truth in the first place? Over 10,000 viewers played couples therapist:

Saint Liz
Well, duh, 90% of you voted. This is Liz we’re talking about here. She let the guy who set Michael (Chad Duell) up to be raped in prison – in this century – move into the same house where Liz’s three sons lived.

(Well, we know Jake lives there, at least, and then there are the two other, non-Jason offspring are also allegedly somewhere in residence).

Liz would totally have forgiven Franco for something he did multiple decades ago, especially since he didn’t even remember it, and only had other’s words for it.

Heck, Liz might even have helped come up with several juicy rationalizations for why it was probably Drew’s fault in the first place.

(And, for the record, they were both kids at the time. Kids push other kids without a full understanding about the consequences of their actions.)

Too Big a Risk
No, the minority 9% weigh in. Franco did the right thing. No way would Liz have let an alleged child pusher near her precious Jake (and whatshisname and his brother).

Franco needed to let Liz feel totally confident in his suitability as a stepdad. Plus, he needed some straight answers for himself. How could Franco tell Liz the truth before he knew it? Why worry her before he absolutely needed to?
