When fans tuned in to their favorite soaps, they instead found the closing arguments in the Derek Chauvin Murder Trial. Here’s the latest on what the networks had to say about whether the shows were preempted or will show elsewhere.
Soaps Preempted?
The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless sent out similar tweets. BB’s read: “Today’s all-new episode of #BoldandBeautiful was preempted due to CBS News coverage. It will air tomorrow at our regularly scheduled time.” YR’s nearly verbatim tweet read: “Today’s all-new episode of #YR was preempted due to CBS News coverage. It will air tomorrow at our regularly scheduled time.”
The official General Hospital social media account tweeted: “Due to ongoing breaking news coverage, today’s scheduled episode of General Hospital will now air tomorrow. #GH.” GH’s tweet included a promotional tweet for what was originally supposed to be today’s episode, which included Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) hoping to survive her first real test in prison.
Traditionally, Days of our Lives adheres to a very strict broadcast schedule, rarely preempting episodes. DAYS viewers always have the option of going to NBC.com to see episodes and today was no different. If you want to find out who killed Charlie, you need to watch online or you can read Soap Hub’s recap here.
Other digital platforms are Paramount Plus and CBS.com for BB and YR, and Hulu and ABC.com for GH. DAYS can be seen on NBC.com.
