The Sonny and Jason Dream Team Returns to GH!

It was a long time coming on General Hospital, but it seems Sonny and Jason finally got their groove back. Best friends and partners for nearly two decades, Sonny thought he lost Jason forever when he disappeared into the river in 2012.

A Rough Few Years
When Jason (Billy Miller) returned at Jake Doe, Sonny (Maurice Benard) saw him as an enemy. Later, when he learned Jake’s identity, he tried to reach his friend, but Jason had no memories. However, visions o Sonny brought those memories back in May. Fans looked forward to the mafia dream team re-pairing, but Jason and Sam went on the lam and Jason even admitted he wasn’t ready for mob life again.

Last Friday, their old spirit returned when they rescued Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) for Valentin’s clutches, giving us a glimpse of what we missed–and maybe what’s to come.

Soap Hub asked if you think Sonny and Jason still have “it” and your answers were pretty clear.

Seems Like Old Times
Out of more than 8,000 votes, 94% of you loved seeing Sonny and Jason in action last week. Despite a new actor as Jason, you find the characters still have their chemistry. They were quick to act, knew what the other was thinking, and reminded us why they’re the perfect team.

A very small 4% believe things have changed too much. Jason’s refusal to turn back to a life of crime coupled with how long Billy Miller had to play the character with no memories left a sour note and you don’t think he can ever recapture the magic with Jason.
 
Just Not Sure
The jury is still out for the final 2%. You want to see Jason and Sonny the way they once were, but not sure if it’s possible at this point and may have to settle for another aspect for their relationship.
