The Nurses’ Ball got off to its typical musical start on “General Hospital” yesterday featuring none other than the GH staff. However, the tone of the opening number had tongues wagging on social media as soon as it aired.
As expected, the performance was cheesy, but was it also downright creepy? Soap Hub asked what you thought of the little rap and you let us know your thoughts.
Out of nearly 4,000 votes, 59% of you really enjoyed it. You loved the references to characters from the past, as well as seeing some of your favorite current characters show off their song and dance talents. It was what you expected after years of watching the hospital staff strut their stuff.
On the flip side, 39% didn’t enjoy it at all and felt that little creep factor crawl in. Yes, past characters were mentioned, but some were dead ones and rapping about dead people with smiles plastered on faces just didn’t seem right.

It was especially odd to hear a happy Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) rap about Tania Jones, her own late husband’s first wife and biological mother to her late adopted daughter, BJ. Yes, you typically smile during musicals, but maybe GH didn’t need to make the lyrics about dead people. Then, seeing Bobbie pass out soon after was really a bit much.
A very small 8% could take it or leave it. You expected a silly number from The Nurses’ Ball and that’s what you got. In the end, you’d much rather see the drama that always encircles the ball rather than the musical performances themselves.
GH airs weekdays on ABC. Share your thoughts, leave a comment in the section below. Additionally, for more General Hospital spoilers updates, recaps, and news, go to Soap Hub’s Facebook fanpage and join the conversation about all your favorite soaps!
