The Plots Thicken: General Hospital Was Actually Interesting This Week

 Comments

After several months in the doldrums where the same thing seemed to happen every day, General Hospital (GH) was truly hopping this week.

Throughout the summer, we got the usual someone gets shot because of Sonny or Sonny himself is shot.

We saw another trial take place in record time (Julian), we snored through the endless Michael and Nelle cycle, we watched Ava hide her face in various ways, and we wondered if Man Landers was ever going to end.

Well, Man Landers is still happening (WHY?) and so are Michael and Nelle (again, WHY?), but this week suddenly picked up.

We watched Patient 6 (Steve Burton) get on a boat for home, and it certainly seems like he’s the Original Recipe Jason Morgan. And after seeing his reaction to it being 2017, we can only assume he was highly drugged or comatose for five years now. Perhaps he thinks he’s returning to Sam (Kelly Monaco) and baby Danny.

The other Jason (Billy Miller) recovered quite nicely back in Port Charles and he and Franco shared a few words, making for some interesting scenes. He even got a call from the guy he looked like before, but neither of them know it. By the end of the week, he placed a call to Julian, and we have to wonder what that about.

Ava (Maura West) and Griffin (Matt Cohen) made us wonder if anything will EVER happen between them and we just had to suspend our disbelief as Ava revealed she’s left with nothing but what seems like a nasty case of teen acne after being burned over a large part of her body six months ago.

In Monte Carlo, we enjoyed the rapport between Anna (Finola Hughes) and Finn (Michael Easton), and at least got to see him mourn the baby he thinks he lost for the first time in weeks. Now, we can’t wait to see what happens when Cassandra Pierce shows up in town.

And, can’t wait to see is what soaps are all about. With General Hospital, threads are coming together and we even want to know who the heck Oscar’s parents are. When you’re interested in a random kid, who might not be so random, you know a soap is doing something right.

GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
