As far as General Hospital supercouples go, Maxie and Peter aren’t all that different. She’s ditzy widow and new mom whose cop husband was killed in the line of duty. He’s a maybe-sociopath who blames the mother who abandoned him at birth for everything that ever went wrong in his life – and is responsible for said cop’s death.
We mean, really, is the above all that different from a young wife ditching her upstanding husband for her rapist or a mom of three shacking up with a serial killer?
So are the fans all in for Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Peter (Wes Ramsey)? Over 3,000 had this to say.

Damn, Skippy, 66% of you cheer. This is classic soap at its classic soapiest! Good (but not too good) girl, bad (but not too bad) boy.
Peter just needs somebody to love him. He needs a family of his own to make up for the one he lacked as a child. And Maxie fits the bill on both counts. Plus, she’s made so many mistakes of her own, she can’t be too judgmental about Peter’s.
Once he is finally loved for who he really is, not just for who was pretending to be, Peter can take his place among classic GH romantic heroes. Like Luke (Anthony Geary). And Franco (Roger Howarth).

Hold the Phone
No way, no how, counter a horrified 34%. Peter got Nathan (Ryan Paevey) killed. And now he’s going to play Daddy to Nathan’s son? Not to mention take Nathan’s place in Maxie’s bed? That is not acceptable.
Sure, Maxie is a ditz. But she’s not an idiot. And the one thing she’s never been is disloyal. Sure, Peter is now her beloved cousin Robin’s (Kimberly McCullough) brother. But, that doesn’t make him family. And, it doesn’t make him love interest material!
