As soon as General Hospital’s Nelle and Maxie were pregnant at the same time, fans smelled a baby-switch story coming.

But, oh, yeah, there was also Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad (Parry Shen) talking about the baby they were going to adopt, but since they were hardly onscreen, no one gave them that much thought.

But then Maxie (Kirsten Storms) gave birth to sweet baby James, and he came home from the hospital with her, while Nelle (Chloe Lanier) stayed pregnant. A baby switch began to seem less and less likely. Did GH actually pull off a fakeout?

Not exactly… Soon enough, Nelle finally did give birth. In the woods. She was just stumbling about down the road when who should come along but Brad, with his newly adopted son, Wiley, who seemed to have succumbed to crib death at barely a few days old.

Here you go, Brad, Nelle said. You take my living baby and pass him off to Lucas as your Wiley, while I’ll take that poor, little dead soul off your hands and blame Michael (Chad Duell) for “our” baby’s death. No muss, no fuss.

Now Nelle is out of Port Charles, Michael is grieving “Jonah,” and “Wiley’s” birth mom wanted “her” baby back, but Julian did some mobster stuff and talked her out of it. You got that? Good. Now here’s how almost 7,000 viewers feel about this hot mess.

Hate It!
It wasn’t even close, as 85% of the audience expressed their utter disdain for the whole story.

What do you think? Post a comment!

You want Michael reunited with his son, and you want this story to be over, especially those of you who’ve lost children of your own and find the lying extra unbearable.

Love It
This is what soaps do best, 14% of fans cheer. Long-term storylines told on a day-by-day basis. You hope this keeps going until Wiley is old enough to decide who he wants for a dad.

Hey, maybe Michael will get a chance to see how AJ felt every time Michael declared himself a Corinthos!
