On May 19, you’ll see soap greats past and present in a new ABC primetime special called The Story of Soaps and longtime One Life to Live actress Erika Slezak will happily be a part of that.
It’s rare to hear from this multi-Emmy winner since One Life to Live left the airwaves in 2012, but not only will she make an appearance on this highly-anticipated special, she’s also given an update on her life.
Slezak has a message for fans about life in quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic that has changed life all across the globe.
“We are all doing well here in CT, and managing just as best as we can. We are lucky in that we have a home and food in the cupboard and the fridge and we are staying in. I haven’t been to a store in 60 days. Michael does all the errands like grocery shopping etc., and fortunately, he is very careful and staying healthy,” Slezak wrote on her website.
“The weather has, for the most part, been totally miserable. We have had maybe two or three really nice days, and it’s been cloudy and rainy all the rest of the time, so there is really no reason to go outside anyway. I’ve been doing lots of reading and cleaning the house and clearing out of cupboards, etc, which keeps us busy. I hope everyone is well and that we come out of this in one piece.”
Slezak played Victoria Lord Riley Buchanan Carpenter on OLTL from 1971 to 2012, and briefly revived the character in 2013 on the online version of the soap. During her decades on the show, Slezak also played Viki’s array of multiple personalities, including Nikki, Tommy, Jean, Princess, and Tori. She won six Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a drama series throughout her Llanview run.
