Dr. Liesl Obrecht was part of the infamous car accident that caused Michael and Nelle to be run off the road on General Hospital, and after delivering baby Jonah, we weren’t sure we’d see the ‘good’ doctor again.
Sure, she appeared briefly when her sister Madeline (Donna Mills) was laid to rest, but we never thought — we never hoped — that she’d be able to beat the charges that were pending against her.
After all, Liesl (the wonderful Kathleen Gati) almost killed super-spy Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) son, Peter (Wes Ramsey). The chances of her getting away with that seemed to be slim to none.
Of course, we quickly realized we were foolish to underestimate her.
One thing Liesl is good at is collecting secrets. She always seems to be in the right place at the right time (unless you’re the one that’s trying to keep the secret).
And that particular gift came in handy as she was able to strong-arm Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), who in turn did the same to Peter and voila! Obrecht is free!
Soap Hub couldn’t be happier about this turn of events! We know she has done some rotten things during her time in and out of Port Charles but we don’t care because she does it all with such panache!
Liesl may be a thorn in Valentin’s side, but her troublemaking ways certainly keep things exciting!
For instance, will she spill the mother of all secrets to her niece Nina (Michelle Stafford) about what a scoundrel the love of her life is? How he “found” Nina’s daughter — but it’s all just a lie and Liesl knows it.
She also knows that Nelle (Chloe Lanier) gave birth to a live boy — who is now going by the name of Wiley. That’s a tasty tidbit that many powerful people in Port Charles would pay dearly to find out.
When will she share her secrets? Whose life will she make miserable in the process? And how many more awesome conversations will she have with her one genuine friend in town — Franco (Roger Howarth)? We’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
