No Way Out: Is General Hospital’s (GH) Nelle In Any Way Redeemable?

Bad girls aren’t a new phenomenon on General Hospital (GH).

Nelle (Chloe Lanier) is just the latest in a long line that goes all the way back to Audrey (Rachel Ames). Yup, off-screen, invisible, Liz’s kid-watching Gram was a bit of a wild girl back in the day!

Yet there is something about Nelle that seems to set viewers’ teeth on edge. When asked if she was in any way redeemable, here’s what over 5,000 Port Charles watchers had to say:

Game Over!
Nope, 72% of you assert. Forget that Bobbie (Jaclyn Zeman) went from the woman who faked a pregnancy to try and steal Scotty (Kin Shriner) from Laura (Genie Francis), to beloved nurse and heroine.

Forget that Monica (Leslie Charleson) passed her son, AJ, off as Rick’s in order to keep Rick from returning to his wife, Leslie (Denise Alexander).

Forget every single stunt that Carly (Laura Wright) has pulled in her life, or Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) scheming.

Forget Lulu’s (Emme Rylan) carelessness accidentally leading to Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) death, Anna (Finola Hughes) being a traitor and a double-agent, and Obrecht (Kathleen Gatti)… Oh! My! God! Obrecht!

What do you think? Post a comment!

But, Nelle – Nelle! – she is the GH woman that can never, ever be redeemed. (And remember, we’re not even talking about the men here… Sonny the mobster… Luke the rapist… Franco the… Franco.)

Give Peace a Chance
See all of the above there? All of the above there is why 27% of the audience believes Nelle can still be redeemed. Because, really anybody can be.

Granted, she’ll be asked to suffer first. Bobbie had to survive an abusive husband, Monica had to accept Alan’s illegitimate son, Anna had that silly scar she wore as penance, Maxie lost Nathan, and Carly… uhm… well, being married to Sonny (Maurice Benard) is punishment enough.

So what abuse will Nelle need to endure before she can join those women’s heroine ranks?

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
