General Hospital’s Michael should, in theory, be the show’s front burner, younger leading man. He’s a grandson of legendary supercouple Alan and Monica Quartermaine, as well as stalwart nurse Bobbie Spencer.
He’s the adopted son of Sonny (Maurice Benard), the most beloved mobster in Port Charles, and under the special protection of everybody’s favorite hitman, Jason (Steve Burton). Michael (Chad Duell) is the crown prince, the dauphin, the nexus of all that is good and noble.
So why does his love life suck so much? He has the worst luck with women, whether it’s self-righteous Kiki (Hayley Erin) or nutso-cuckoo Nelle (Chloe Lanier).
And now there’s Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). She’s beautiful, she’s interested, she’s…there. Yeah, that’s the extent of what they’ve got going for them. So, how do fans feel about the couple? Here’s what almost 11,000 said:
Please, please, don’t do this to us, 60% of the audience begs. Even insomniacs wouldn’t be able to keep their eyes open during this snooze-fest. Sure, on paper, Sasha has potential, what with her pretending to be Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) long-lost daughter under orders fro Valentin (James Patrick Stuart).
But, on-screen, she and Michael just cannot seem to generate any sparks for the life of them. Their stories are more interesting when they don’t overlap. And that can’t possibly be a good sign.
More Is Better
Only 40% see potential — and pretty is a big part of it. But you’re willing to give the show a chance to develop the relationship before you make a final decision. Other GH couples have started in less promising ways and look at them now! General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
