Vincent Irizarry, who has been a staple on daytime since his start on soaps as Guiding Light’s Lujack more than 35 years ago, knows there’s been a lot of gloom in the world these last several months, but he found some light in the darkness recently, which the actor posted about on his Instagram account.

Vincent Irizarry And Family

“Over the past couple weeks I’ve been able to travel back east to celebrate my youngest son’s HS graduation, Elias, of whom I couldn’t be more proud of… the young man he’s become and the promise of the man he could be, having a true heart for service with the deep desire to contribute…,” he wrote, posting along with a series of photos of his family.

Vincent Irizarry called out all the disturbing things occurring in the world—“the loss of loved ones for too many, the fear of confusion and uncertainty newly introduced in force into our daily lives, the stomach-turning murder of #georgefloyd witnessed by most of us for nearly 9 minutes, and the disturbing subsequent consequence of that event, sadly, in some instances, leaving other innocents victimized in its wake,”—and noted he was uplifted by his son’s achievement, showing that life continues to go on.

While he was on the East Coast, Irizarry was also able to meet his granddaughter Zara for the first time, and the proud grandpa shared some photos of her—and her 1.5-year-old sister Areli— in his post. He also spent time with his sister Audra, who recently recovered from the Coronavirus.

“I realize we’re all living our lives day by day, (as was always the case, lest we had forgotten), not prescient enough to know what tomorrow will bring, but I’m thankful for the reminder that life offers us much to be grateful for, to celebrate in, somedays in greater degree than others, of course, but the blessings are still there to experience, to sustain us, to encourage,” Irizarry wrote.

He encourages everyone to make all efforts to treat one another with love, respect, and appreciation.

With all the incredibly disturbing events of the past several months, the loss of many loved ones for too many, the fear of confusion and uncertainty newly introduced in force into our daily lives, the stomach-turning murder of #georgefloyd witnessed by most of us for nearly 9 minutes, and the disturbing subsequent consequence of that event, sadly, in some instances, leaving other innocents victimized in its wake, I’m uplifted by the reminder that life continues to go on, even life, in part, as we had once known it. Gives me hope… Over the past couple weeks I’ve been able to travel back east to celebrate my youngest son’s HS graduation, Elias, of whom I couldn’t be more proud of… the young man he’s become and the promise of the man he could be, having a true heart for service with the deep desire to contribute… While there I was able to meet my newest, absolutely beautiful granddaughter, Zara, born 3+ weeks ago as well as be with my other beautiful granddaughter again, her sister, Areli, nearly 1.5 yrs old. Lastly, I was able to spend time with my beloved kid sister, Audra, and her family after she had recovered from Coronavirus 2+ months ago. She’s completely recovered, thankfully, doing wonderfully; beautiful as ever. I realize we’re all living our lives day by day, (as was always the case, lest we had forgotten), not prescient enough to know what tomorrow will bring, but I’m thankful for the reminder that life offers us much to be grateful for, to celebrate in, somedays in greater degree than others, of course, but the blessings are still there to experience, to sustain us, to encourage. Hold fast, brothers and sisters… Whether some may want to dismis this, the fact is we’re all part of one race, the human race – yes, comprised of many shades, but all beings born of the same breath of life from the same source, fashioned uniquely with gifts for service and contribution to others, but with EQUAL dignity and value. Therefore, please make every effort to treat one another with the love, respect, and appreciation of what we all share and celebrate in collectively; accordingly… Peace & Love #4evergr8ful #4everhopeful #blessingsabound
