On Tuesday, we had one of those rare and unusual soap opera days when we get two full hours of Wally Kurth playing two different characters. No, not separated-at-birth twins, but two characters on two shows. Justin Kiriakis on Days of our Lives and Ned Quartermaine on General Hospital.
Wally Kurth: A Very Lucky Soap Star
If you watch both shows in a row on a regular basis, it can be a little jarring. Wait, didn’t we just see Justin mourning the anniversary of Adrienne’s death over in Salem? Why is he on the phone in the Q mansion in Port Charles?
Then you remember the actor has been pulling double duty for years. GH and DAYS both want the actor and the two characters he portrays and has played for decades.
Of course, the social media world was as jarred as Soap Hub and remembered to point out that Kurth is all over the soap dial.
“When you flip channels and get double the Wally,” tweeted Dee Dee The TMZ of Soaps, along with photos of both Justin and Ned doing their things yesterday.
Kurth saw the tweet and had to chime in himself. “I never take my good fortune for granted,” the actor responded.
What Was Wally Up To?
Over in Salem, Justin and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) visited Adrienne’s (Judi Evans) grave and then shared memories of her over at the Pub with Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Steve (Stephen Nichols). It was an awkward moment for Justin as he is now dating Steve’s ex-wife.
Over in Port Charles, Ned had to deal with daughter Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) in jail, a surprise wedding between Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) in the house, ELQ problems, and Julian (William deVry) and Leo drama.
