Celebrating Avery Kristen Pohl
Pohl first appeared as Esme Prince in Port Charles in August of 2021. It was clear from the beginning that Spencer’s new girlfriend, whom he met at his boarding school in France, had an agenda.
She was only too happy to help her boyfriend with his evil stepmom problems and not too happy to notice a growing attraction between Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali). Slipping her competition a roofie and recording a sex tape of Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Cameron (William Lipton) put a pause on that.
Once her parents were revealed as Ryan Chamberlin (Jon Lindstrom) and Heather Webber (Alley Mills), it all seemed to make sense. She was destined to wreak havoc. After she seduced her boyfriend’s father, the tables were turned on the scheming troublemaker but memory loss and motherhood seemed to change all that.
Luckily, the actress is truly a sweetheart in real life and took the time to share some personal details with Soap Hub.
1.) What qualities do you admire about your character?
A quality that I really admire about Esme is her ability to make it through any given situation. She has quite the work ethic. Whether it is with Ace or pre-amnesia, she is always willing to fight for what she needs.
2.) If you could work with any actor (from any genre) on your show, who would it be?
If I could work with any other actor from any genre it would probably be Viola Davis. I think she is such a powerful and moving performer. I would get to learn a lot from her.
3.) Did you watch soaps growing up? Who was your favorite soap opera (or other fictional) heroine?
I actually did not watch soaps growing up, but I think Laura [Genie Francis] on General Hospital was a name everyone knew. What Laura’s character has evolved to has been very lovely to watch in the relatively short time I have kept up with GH.
4.) What real-life historical female figure do you admire?
Amelia Earhart was quite a popular real-life historical figure in my household growing up. One of our pets is even named Amelia!
