It’s almost that time of the year on General Hospital. The weather is getting warmer and pretty soon the Metro Court pool will be open. Will the latest batch of teenagers be hanging out there and dealing with new drama?
The Good Old Days
GH has always done a good job of representing teenage soap stories. There was the original foursome of Lucky (Jonathan Jackson), Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Emily (ex-Amber Tamblyn), and Nikolas (the late Tyler Christopher). This group brought the teen angst and gave us first loves and real friendships. Port Charles also had a heartbreaking storyline with teens Robin (ex-Kimberly McCullough) and Stone (ex-Michael Sutton).
The most recent group centered around Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Trina (Tabyana Ali). The boys in their group were originally Oscar (ex-Garren Stitt) and Cameron (ex-William Lipton). After Oscar’s tragic death, they added Dev (ex-Ashton Arbab), who also died, and then Spencer (ex-Nicholas Chavez), who might be dead. That’s a lot of death. The girls have grown up and are moving on to more adult issues, but there is a new crew set to take their place.
Up And Coming
It’s crazy to think that just a short time ago they were little kids (some actually were) and now they are teenagers ready to take on Port Charles. Summer is always a great time for soap kids to come out of the woodwork and they usually show up at the Metro Court pool.
Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco (Finn Carr) have recently been featured in major storylines. The stepbrothers have dealt with a lot because of Sam’s (ex-Kelly Monaco) death and Lulu’s (Alexa Havins) waking up from her coma. Rocco’s half-sister Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) has returned home, so it would make sense for her to start hanging out with the boys. Before she was on the run, Lulu’s daughter had gotten close with Jake (Hudson West), Danny’s half-brother. He is away at art school, but could come home for the summer.
Charlotte could use a bestie and Georgie (Lily Fisher) fits the bill. The moms are best friends, so why not their daughters? The group could be rounded out by Jake’s half-brother, Aiden (Colin Cassidy) and his current boyfriend Tobias (Charlie Besso).
The young people of Port Charles could get themselves into all kinds of trouble and develop new love stories (but many are related, so let’s be careful with that). It may be a fun summer! Are you looking forward to some teen angst? Let us know in the comments section.
