Why Hasn’t General Hospital Solved These Murders?

There is plenty of crime on General Hospital. We have seen serial killers, mob wars, drug tampering, and so much more. But there have been a couple of murders in recent history that have gone unsolved. Did the PCPD forget them?

Murder Mystery

Austin (Roger Howarth) arrived in Port Charles in 2021, but the character never really found a purpose. Unfortunately, GH killed off Franco, who had a great story, to bring Roger Howarth back as Austin. It never made much sense.

He was originally a new love interest for Maxie (Kirsten Storms), but the chemistry was never there. Austin turned out to be the son of Jimmy Lee Holt, but the Quartermaines never accepted him. He had a mysterious cousin, Mason (Nathanyael Grey), and a bizarre relationship with Cyrus (Jeff Kober). Things really got out of hand when he got mixed up with Ava (Maura West) and her drama with Nikolas (Adam Huss).

After he struck a deal to turn in Cyrus, he was shot and left to die. That was the end. There was never much of an investigation, and the residents of Port Charles forgot poor Austin. We never found out who the killer was.

Cold Case

Then there was the murder of John, aka Jagger (Adam J. Harrington). We know who killed him. Sonny (Maurice Benard) shot him on the Quartermaine property, and Michael (Chad Duell) witnessed it.

Why they brought John back from the past is a mystery. The old Jagger was a good guy but returned to Port Charles with a new face, a new personality, and a strange vendetta against Sonny. He went after a very unstable Kristina when he tried but couldn’t take Sonny down (Kate Mansi). The guy was awful, so Sonny decided to eliminate him.

The PCPD arrested Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) for the crime, and the mob boss actually let the mother of his child go to prison for him. Luckily for Alexis, evidence came to light that exonerated her. The PCPD didn’t look much further into the crime once she was released. Sonny got away with murder, but that has happened many times before.
