Drew is incapacitated on General Hospital (thanks to Willow). He hasn’t officially stepped down as a Congressman (not that he did much work before), but Mayor Laura is already looking to replace him with his ex-mother-in-law, Alexis. But other Port Charles forces would prefer to see Willow take over her fiancé’s role. Which woman will get your vote? And why this is the most realistic soap election ever!
Key Takeaways
- Alexis is a hypocrite and a kidnapper, and an embezzler.
- Willow is an attempted murderer and an ex-cult member.
- They’re both perfect for politics.
That’s Not How It Works
There is so much wrong with this Port Charles Special Election for Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) Congressional seat that we’re not even going to get into it. After all, this is also the town where Laura (Genie Francis) became mayor because her grandson tampered with the votes. This is after her ex-mobster ex-husband (then her widower) became mayor, then handed the office over to the guy who came in second to him in the election because… why not?
So the only reality we’re going to lean into is why both Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) are perfect for politics.
Lying Liars Who Lie and the Woman Who Pretends She Doesn’t
Alexis holds herself up as he paragon of virtue. She even told Laura she won’t go against her morals in running for office. Alexis’ morals include defending many a mobster, stealing money from a baby, covering up her daughter’s crimes, and kidnapping a man, holding him hostage under her own roof. Oh, and she also spilled the beans about Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero) son’s parentage and has lost her license to practice law, among other lesser crimes.
Alexis is a hypocrite of the highest order, which means she’ll have no trouble telling all the lies politicians are required to tell in order to trick voters into thinking she cares about them in the slightest.
Past, Present, Future Smooth Criminal
Willow tried to kill Drew. Willow is currently injecting Drew with a drug to keep him paralyzed. Willow has gone completely over the bend.
But that’s not what will make her the ideal politician. What will make Willow the ideal politician is that she was raised in a cult. Politics is a cult. Willow knows how to manipulate people into thinking that what she wants them to do is what they themselves want to do. She’ll be perfect for politics!
