While most of the daytime world has their eyes on the Daytime Emmys this Friday night, actors Wally Kurth, Brandon Barash, Eric Martsolf, and Carson Boatman are excited about even more — they’ve formed a band together and want everyone to know about it. Soap Hub spoke with Martsolf to find out how this all came about.
Eric Martsolf: An Inside Look At The Day Players
As if appearing on General Hospital and Days of our Lives isn’t enough for Kurth, who pays Ned Quartermaine and Justin Kiriakis respectively, now he’s teaming up with former GH and current DAYS co-star, Barash (ex-Johnny, GH; Jake DiMera on DAYS) and fellow DAYS stars Boatman (Johnny DiMera) and Martsolf (Brady Black) to form a band called Day Players. Martsolf previewed what fans can expect.
“The name for the band was a no-brainer!” revealed Martsolf. “We are all technically ‘day players’ by profession, and our collective love for music solidified this decision to create the group. Each member represents a different generational age, which adds to this group’s flavor and versatility.”
That’s right — there will be something for everyone. “You name it, we’ll probably be doing it,” Martsolf continued. “We will be throwing an acoustic flair on music spanning the decades, encompassing a variety of genres and styles. Regardless of your age, you’re sure to hear some of your favorites over the years.
“The Day Players’ intention is to spread our love of music and storytelling to a city near you,” he said, sharing the guys’ vision for the band and what they want the experience to be for those attending. “It’s also our way of reaching out and saying thank you for the undying support our fanbases have displayed over the years. Just as daytime television has provided much-needed escapism for millions of viewers, we intend to provide that much-needed ‘night out’ which so many deserve — an evening of music, laughter, and togetherness.”
The tour begins in New Brunswick, NJ on September 15, moves to Bellmore, New York on September 16, then Bridgeport, Connecticut on September 17, and finishes in Beverly, Massachusetts on September 18. Find out more on their official site, TheDayPlayersBand.com, and also at Coastal Entertainment. You can also follow them on Instagram.
Soap Hub will be hosting a Fireside Chat with members of the Day Players on June 28. Keep an eye out for details.
