The wedding of the year kicked off on the May 15, 2024 episode of General Hospital. While everyone is donning their best attire and gathering with family and friends old and new to celebrate Brook Lynn and Chase, two characters in particular just had a long-awaited reunion.
Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) is attending the wedding as Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms, who recently revealed her new career endeavor), while Jason (Steve Burton) was recruited to go in Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) place. Yet to see each other since Jason’s return to Port Charles, while on the phone with his daughter, Spinelli got a surprise outside the church.
Standing to his right was Jason, breaking his stonecold demeanor just a tad at the sight of his best friend. “At long last, I see you in the flesh,” Spinelli said before tearfully grabbing Jason in a hug and telling him how grateful he is that Jason is here.
Many have wondered what’s taken Jason and Spinelli so long to see each other, including their portrayers, who have spoken on their podcast Daily Drama about longing for the day they got to work together again. The duo reunited on the GH set back in March, but had yet to film a scene together.
On today’s episode, Jason immediately apologized to Spinelli for only seeing him now. “Things have been so complicated, I didn’t want you involved,” he explained for why he hadn’t reached out.
Spinelli understood and attempted to give Jason another hug, which Jason declined. Spinelli then went to adjust Jason’s jacket and was swatted away, in typical JaSpin comedic fashion.
