There may be a case for Willow and Drew
It is hard to find a General Hospital fan who is pro-Drew and Willow. Their relationship has caused heartache for everyone involved. But is this couple meant to be?
Both Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) had troubled childhoods. Neither of them even knew who their real parents were until they were adults. This may be partially why they were drawn to each other. Willow’s husband, Michael (Chad Duell), was raised by loving parents in a wealthy home.
Willow loved her husband very much when she married him but might never have fully trusted him. Michael kept many secrets from his wife, including her mother’s identity. Her feelings may have changed because of his lies. Willow turned to Drew. While she shouldn’t have cheated on her husband, maybe Drew is a better fit for her.
Willow has realized that she falls for men who come to her rescue, and Drew helped save her life when she had cancer. This could stem from growing up in a cult. It may be time for some therapy because that is something she needs to work out.
Now that Willow knows her pattern, she can end it and stand on her own two feet. Their relationship will be on equal ground if she can make her own decisions and not lean on her boyfriend for everything. He could be the guy for her, after all.
No matter what she has done, Willow is Wiley (Viron Weaver) and Amelia’s (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) mom. No mother can blame her for wanting to be with her children while their father is in the hospital. Understandably, she was angry when Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) took her kids away. Her solution of keeping Michael’s family away until Wiley and Amelia came home was not the best, but she felt desperate.
And then there’s Scout (Cosette Abinante). Once things settle down, Willow can be good for Drew’s daughter. The poor girl lost her mom, and a motherly figure in her life would be helpful. Whatever we think about Willow, she is a good mother. Maybe Drew and Willow can live happily ever after and create a new family with their children. What are your thoughts?
